Abstract
La invención proporciona procedimientos para el tratamiento de agua residual utilizando una resma de intercambio de iones para remover aniones de sulfato, al mismo tiempo que se ajusta el pH de la solución de carga de intercambio de iones con un gas de dióxido de carbono; el efecto de las reacciones de carga de resma es que se reemplaza el sulfato disuelto con gas de dióxido de carbono secuestrado, en la forma de bicarbonato disuelto, en el agua tratada y no se remueven los cationes de la solución.
