Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a composiciones que comprenden péptidos que pueden ser variantes, derivados y equivalentes estructurales de las cupredoxinas que inhiben el desarrollo de las lesiones pre-malignas en células mamíferas, tejidos y animales. Específicamente, estas composiciones pueden comprender azurina de Pseudomonas aeruginosa, y/o la región del residuo 50-77 de azurina (p28). La presente invención se relaciona además a composiciones que pueden comprender cupredoxina(s), y/o variantes, derivados o equivalentes estructurales de las cupredoxinas, que retienen la habilidad para inhibir el desarrollo de lesiones pre-malignas en células mamíferas, tejidos ó animales. Estas composiciones pueden ser péptidos o composiciones farmacéuticas, entre otros. Las composiciones de la invención pueden utilizarse para prevenir el desarrollo de lesiones pre-malignas en células mamíferas, tejidos y animales, y por consiguiente prevenir el cáncer.
