Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un mecanismo de ajuste automático para un conjunto de freno de disco calibrador que tiene patas calibradoras primera y segunda, la primera pata define un cilindro, un pistón hidráulicamente activado recibido deslizable y selladamente dentro del cilindro, medios para presurizar hidráulicamente el cilindro con lo cual se causa el desplazamiento axial exterior del pistón en relación con el primer calibardor y activación del freno, este mecanismo de ajuste comprende: medios de tornillo de ajuste coaxiales con el pistón, estos medios de tornillo de ajuste se mueven axialmente en relación con la primera para calibradora e incluyen un extremo acoplado a la primera pata calibradora y expuesta a presión hidráulica en el cilindro, e incluyen un extremo roscado opuesto que se extiende desde el cilindro dentro de una cavidad que se extiende axialmente formada en el extremo interior del pistón y que tiene una superficie de extremo vuelta hacia afuera expuesta a la presión atmosférica, con lo cual somete a los medios de tornillo de ajuste a una fuerza hidráulica exterior axial resultante, proporcional a la presión hidráulica en el cilindro, medios de tuerca coaxiales con y que acoplan roscadamente con el extremo roscado opuesto de los medios de tornillo de ajuste, estos medios de tuerca se mueven axialmente a lo largo de los medios de tornillo de ajuste para variar la posición no activada del pistón en relación con la primera pata calibradora, con lo cual se ajusta el freno; medios de resorte de compresión para ejercer una fuerza exterior axial predeterminada sobre los medios de tuerca mencionados en relación con el pistón; medios de fricción interpuestos entre los medios de tuerca y los medios de pistón, estos medios de fricción son operables en la primera condición en donde el acoplamiento friccional entre los medios de tuerca y el pistón de tal manera que la fuerza axial ejercida sobre los medios de tuerca por los medios de resorte es suficiente para causar la rotación de los medios de tuerca para el avance axial de los medios de tuerca a lo largo de los medios de tornillo de ajuste para ajustar el freno, y una segunda condición en donde hay suficiente acoplamiento friccional entre los meidos de tuerca y el pistón de tal manera que la fuerza axial ejercida sobre los medios de tuerca por lo medios de resorte no rotan ni hay avance axial de la tuerca y no ajustan el freno.The present invention relates to an automatic adjusting mechanism for a caliper disc brake assembly having first and second caliper legs, the first leg defines a cylinder, a hydraulically activated piston slidably received and sealed within the cylinder, means for hydraulically pressurizing the cylinder with which the external axial displacement of the piston is caused in relation to the first caliper and activation of the brake, this adjusting mechanism comprises: adjusting screw means coaxial with the piston, these adjusting screw means move axially in relative to the first gauge and include an end coupled to the first gauge and exposed to hydraulic pressure in the cylinder, and include an opposite threaded end extending from the cylinder into an axially extending cavity formed at the inner end piston and having an outwardly turned end surface exposed to atmospheric pressure, thereby subjecting the adjusting screw means to a resultant axial external hydraulic force, proportional to the hydraulic pressure in the cylinder, coaxial nut means with and threadedly engaging the opposite threaded end of the adjusting screw means, these nut means move axially along the adjusting screw means to vary the non-activated position of the piston relative to the first caliper leg, whereby the brake is adjusted; compression spring means for exerting a predetermined axial external force on the mentioned nut means in relation to the piston; friction means interposed between the nut means and the piston means, these friction means are operable in the first condition where the frictional coupling between the nut means and the piston such that the axial force exerted on the means of nut by the spring means is sufficient to cause rotation of the nut means for axial advancement of the nut means along the adjusting screw means to adjust the brake, and a second condition where there is sufficient engagement frictional between the nut means and the piston such that the axial force exerted on the nut means by the spring means does not rotate or axially advance the nut and does not adjust the brake.
