Invenţia se referă la un procedeu de sinteză a 3-(2-bromo-4,5-dimetoxifenil)propannitrilului cu formula (I):.Invenţia se referă, de asemenea, la un procedeu de sinteză a ivabradinei, a sărurilor sale farmaceutic acceptabile şi a hidraţilor acestora, cu utilizarea compusului cu formula (I). Procedeul menţionat asigură un procent înalt al randamentului produsului finit.
