Abstract

The invention relates to the field of propulsion engineering, namely to the internal combustion engines with opposite placement of pistons.The internal combustion engine contains cylinders (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) with pistons (9) connected via connecting rods (12) to the crankshaft (10), placed in two rows, opposite to each other, at an angle of 180°, forming pairs. The connecting rods (12) of each pair are located on the same crankpin (13) in parallel or forming a fork connection. At the same time, one cylinder with piston (9) of one pair forms with a crossly oppositely placed cylinder with piston (9) of the adjacent pair a technological connection with the possibility of simultaneous execution of one of the engine running cycle strokes.
