Claims (12)

  1. (a)폴리벤즈아졸 중합체와 용매를 함유하는 이액성(lyotropic) 액정질 폴리벤즈아졸 중합체 도프를 방사 구금을 통해 방사하여 도프 섬유를 형성시키는 단계, (b) 도프 섬유를 에어 갭을 통해 연신시키는 단계 및 (c) 에어 갭에서의 도프 섬유가 투명해지도록 하는 조건하에 도프 섬유로부터 용매의 대부분을 제거하는 단계를 포함하여, 물성이 매우 우수한 폴리벤즈아졸 섬유를 제조하는 방법.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 에어 갭에서의 도프 섬유와 수득된 열경화 섬유가 둘 다 투명해지도록 하는 조건하에 섬유를 열경화시키는 단계(d)를 추가로 포함하는 방법.
  3. 인장강도가 6.89GPa 이상인 폴리벤즈아졸 섬유.
  4. 인장 모듈러스가 379GPa 이상인 폴리벤즈아졸 섬유.
  5. 인장강도가 8.27GPa 이상인 폴리벤즈아졸 섬유.
  6. 인장 모듈러스가 413GPa 이상인 폴리벤즈아졸 섬유.
  7. 인장강도가 10.7GPa 이상인 폴리벤즈아졸 섬유.
  8. 제3항에 있어서, 섬유가 폴리벤즈옥사졸인 섬유.
  9. 제4항에 있어서, 섬유가 폴리벤즈옥사졸인 섬유.
