Abstract

복수 체임버식 에어 백의 각각 분리된 체임버들은 이들간에 가스의 유동 혹은 통기시키는 공동벽에 의해 연결되어 있다. 이러한 연결은 통상 두체임버로 양분시키는 직조된 시트를 비교적 큰 에어 백의 입구와 내벽에 바느질시킴으로서 이루어진다. 이러한 시트 물질은 전개된 에어 백에 외형을 제공해 줄뿐만 아니라 에어 백의 전개의 한정 및 안내를 제공하는 테더와 같은 기능을 할 수 있다.

제2도는 충돌시 초기 전개 단계에서 제1도에 도시된 에어 백을 도시하는 자동차의 전방 부분에서의 부분 측면도,
제3도는 충돌이 시작되는 동안 탑승자 상체의 무게 대부분을 지지하는 에어 백의 가압된 하부 체임버를 도시한 제2도와 유시한 부분 측면도,
제4도는 탑승자의 머리와 어깨에 걸리는 충격을 추가로 완화시키기 위해 하부 체임버로 부터 상부 체임버로 통기된 가스에 의해 발생된 압축으로 가압된 상부 체이버를 도시한 제3도와 유사한 부분 측면도.

Claims (5)

  1. 복수 체임버식 탑승자용 에어 백 쿠션으로서, 팽창 가스의 진입을 위해 상연부를 지닌 입구를 구비하며, 팽창시 상기 입구의 맞은편에 자리하는 내벽을 지닌 내부 체임버를 형성하게 되는 에어 백과, 상기에서 백의 입구의 상기 상연부와 상기 내벽의 중간영역 사이에서 상기 에어백의 내부에 고정되어 상기 에어 백 체임버를 하부 체임버와 상부 체임버로 양분하게 되는 직조된 시트를 포함하는데, 상기 입구로 유입되는 팽창 가스는 상기 하부 체임버를 채우고 가압시키며, 상기 직조된 시트는 그곳에 형성된 통기 수단을 구비하며, 상기 상부 체임버의 가압을 위해 상기 통기 수단을 통해 팽창 가스를 상기 상부 체임버로 유동시킴으로써 하부 체임버내의 팽창 가스의 압력을 경감시키며, 상기 직조된 시트는 추가적으로 상기 에어백의 입구와 상기 내벽의 중간 영역 사이에서 테더와 같은 기능한 제공하는 것을 특징으로 하는 복수 체임버식 탑승자용 에어 백 쿠션.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 직조된 시트는 상기 에어 백의 입구의 상기 상연부와 상기 내벽의 상기 중간 영역사이에서 상기 에어 백의 내부에 바느질시킴으로써 고정되는 것을 특징으로 하는 복수 체임버식 탑승자용 에어 백 쿠션.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 직조된 시트에 제공되는 상기 통기 수단은 최소한 하나 이상의 통기구를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 복수 체임버식 탑승자용 에어 백 쿠션.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 상부 체임버를 통기시키는 수단을 추가로 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 복수 체임버식 탑승자용 에어 백 쿠션.
  5. 복수 체임버식 탑승자용 에어 백 쿠션으로서, 팽창 가스의 진입을 위해 상연부를 지닌 입구를 구비하며, 팽창시 상기 입구의 맞은편에 자리하는 내벽을 지닌 내부 체임버를 형성하게 되는 에어 백과, 상기 에어 백의 입구의 상기 상연부와 상기 내벽의 중간 영역사이에서 상기 에서 백의 내부에 고정되어 상기 에어 백 체임버를 하부 체임버와 상부 체임버로 양분하게 되는 직조된 시트를 포함하는데, 상기 입구로 유입되는 팽창 가스는 상기 하부 체임버를 채우고 가압시키며, 상기 직조된 시트는 그곳에 형성된 통기수단을 구비하며, 상기 상부 체임버의 가압을 위해 상기 통기 수단을 통해 팽창 가스를 상기 상부 체임버로 유동시킴으로써 하부 체임버내의 팽창 가스의 압력을 경감시키며, 상기 직조된 시트는 추가적으로 상기 에어 백의 입구와 상기 내벽의 중간 영역 사이에서 테더와 같은 기능을 제공하며, 상기 직조된 시트는 상기 에어 백의 입구의 상기 상연부와 상기 내벽의 상기 중간영역 사이에서 상기 에어 백의 내부에 바느질시킴으로써 고정되며, 상기 직조된 시트에 제공되는 상기 통기 수단은 최소한 하나 이상의 통기구를 포함하며, 충돌시 되튀김을 감소시키기 위해 상기 상부 체임버를 통기시키는 수단을 추가로 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 복수 체임버식 탑승자용 에어 백 쿠션.
