Claims (6)

  1. 하기식(Ⅰ)의 광학 활성 γ-락톤 고리를 가진 액정 화합물.
    (식중에서 R1및 R2는 각각 독립적으로 C1~C`5알킬기 또는 C|2~C15알케닐기이고; A 및 D는 각각 독립적으로 단일 결합 또는 -O-이고; B는 단일 결합 또는 ;Z는 단일 결합 또는및로 구성된 군으로부터 선택된 기이며; Y는 수소원자 또는 -CH3이고; 및 심볼 *는 비대칭 탄소원자임)
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 라세미체 혼합물 형태임을 특징으로 하는 화합물.
  3. 제1항 또는 2항에 기재한 액정 화합물(Ⅰ)중 1이상, 및 다른 강유전성 액정, 및 비-키랄 액정 또는 그들의 혼합물로 구성됨을 특징으로 하는 액정 조성물.
  4. 제3항에 있어서, 식(Ⅰ)의 화합물과 혼합된 키랄 또는 비키랄 액정이 하기 일반식(J)의 화합물임을 특징으로 하는 화합물.
    (식중에서 E, F 및 G는 서로 독립적으로
    로 구성된 군으로부터 선택된 6원 고리고, 6원 고리 내의 수소원자(들)은 할로겐원자, 시아노기 또는 니트로기로 치환될 수도 있으며;a는 0또는 1이고;W, K, L 및 M은 각각 단일 결합 또는. -CH2O-, -C=C-, -CH=CH-, -O-, -S-,,, -N=CH- 및 -CH2-CH2-로 구성된 군으로부터 선택된 기이며; 단 a=0일 때 K는 단일 결합이고;R3및 R4는 서로 독립적으로 C1~C15인 직쇄 또는 측쇄 알킬기이고, 1이상의 비대칭 탄소원자를 포함할 수있다.)
  5. 제3항에 있어서, 식(Ⅰ)의 화합물과 혼합시킬 키랄 또는 비-키랄 액정이 하기식(J-1)의 화합물 및 하기 식(J-2)의 화합물로 구성된 군으로부터 선택된 화합물중의 적어도 하나임을 특징으로 하는 조성물.
    (식중에서 R5및 R6는 동일 또는 다록, 각각 C1~C15인 직쇄 또는 측쇄 알킬기 또는 C1~C15인 직쇄 또는 측쇄 알콕시기이고, 알킬 및 알콕시기는 1이상의 비대칭 탄소원자를 가지며;A는이고; k 및 I는 독립적으로 0 또는 1이며, k+i=2이다.)
  6. 제3항 내지 5항 중의 어느 한항에서 설명한 액정 조성물로 구성된 전기 광학 장치용 소자.
