Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a gas sensing system.
Recently, in LNG ships (Liquefied Natural Gas vessels), for example, LNG carriers, etc., a dual fuel engine (DF engine, dual fuel engine) that can use diesel and natural gas as fuel as a main engine for generating ship propulsion is installed. . The dual fuel engine can utilize boil-off gas (BOG, Boil-Off Gas) generated from the LNG tank, thereby reducing the cost associated with the installation and operation of the reliquefaction facility.
On the other hand, since natural gas supplied as fuel to the dual fuel engine may continuously flow out into the crank case, the crank case must be provided with an exhaust pipe.
In addition, according to the IGC code of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), a gas detection system for detecting the concentration of hydrocarbon gas (HC gas) in the exhaust gas is provided in the exhaust pipe provided in the crankcase in the dual fuel engine of the LNG ship. should be applied This is because there may be a risk of fire or explosion if the concentration of hydrocarbon gas in the exhaust gas increases.
1 is a diagram of a conventional gas detection system, and FIG. 2 is an enlarged view of part A of FIG. 1 .
1 and 2, the conventional
An embodiment of the present invention provides a gas detection system capable of preventing a sensor malfunction due to oil mist or the like.
According to one aspect of the present invention, in the gas detection system installed in the exhaust pipe to measure the concentration of harmful gas in the exhaust gas, a first light source irradiating a first infrared ray into the exhaust pipe, and a different from the first infrared ray in the exhaust pipe a light emitting unit including a second light source irradiating a second infrared ray having a wavelength; a light receiving unit that detects the amount of light of the first infrared rays and the second infrared rays irradiated from the light emitting unit and passed through the exhaust gas; and a circuit for calculating a harmful gas concentration based on a difference between the amount of light of the first infrared light and the amount of light of the second infrared light detected by the light receiving unit.
The rate of decrease in the amount of light by the harmful gas of the second infrared rays may be higher than the rate of decrease in the quantity of light by the harmful gas of the first infrared rays.
The reduction rate of the amount of light due to the harmful gas of the first infrared rays may be substantially zero.
The rate of decrease in the amount of light by the harmful gas of the second infrared rays may be proportional to the concentration of the harmful gas.
The exhaust pipe transports the exhaust gas discharged from the crankcase of the dual fuel engine, and the harmful gas may be a hydrocarbon gas.
The light emitting unit irradiates the first infrared rays and the second infrared rays into the exhaust pipe through a first through hole formed in the exhaust pipe, and the light receiving unit through a second through hole formed in the exhaust pipe to face the first through hole The first infrared ray and the second infrared ray may be received.
An isolation valve may be coupled to the first through hole and the second through hole, respectively, and the light emitting unit and the light receiving unit may be detachably coupled to the blocking valve.
According to an embodiment of the present invention, the second infrared light having an increased absorption rate, that is, the light quantity decrease rate, is used as the concentration of the harmful gas increases, but based on the difference between the light quantity of the first infrared light and the light quantity of the second infrared light detected by the light receiving unit, the harmful gas By calculating the concentration, measurement errors due to oil mist or the like can be corrected.
In addition, since there is no need to install a circulation pipe, an oil filter, a water filter, etc., it is possible to reduce not only the installation cost but also the manpower and cost associated with the periodic maintenance of the filter.

FIG. 4 is an enlarged view of part B of FIG. 3 .
Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Terms used in the embodiments of the present invention may be interpreted as meanings that can be generally understood by those of ordinary skill in the art to which the present invention pertains, unless clearly defined in other meanings. It will be seen that the embodiments are described, and are not intended to limit the present invention.
3 is a diagram of a gas detection system according to an embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 4 is an enlarged view of part B of FIG. 3 .
Referring to FIG. 3 , the
The
Referring to FIG. 4 , the
The second infrared ray W2 may have a wavelength having a high rate of reduction in the amount of light due to the harmful gas, that is, the absorption rate of the harmful gas.
Accordingly, the second infrared rays W2 may be absorbed by harmful gas in the exhaust gas while passing through the exhaust gas, and thus the amount of light may be reduced.
In addition, the rate of decrease in the amount of light due to the harmful gas of the second infrared rays W2 may be proportional to the concentration of the harmful gas. That is, as the concentration of harmful gas in the exhaust gas increases, the amount of light of the second infrared rays W2 may be further reduced. Accordingly, the harmful gas concentration in the exhaust gas may be calculated based on the amount of light before and after the second infrared W2 passes through the exhaust gas.
However, since the amount of light of the second infrared rays W2 can be reduced by oil mist in the exhaust gas, etc., in the present invention, the amount of light before the passage of the exhaust gas of the second infrared rays W2 is the amount of light after the passage of the exhaust gas of the first infrared rays W1 can be replaced to calculate the harmful gas concentration.
Meanwhile, the
The first infrared ray W1 may have a lower wavelength than the second infrared ray W2 at which the light quantity reduction rate due to the harmful gas, that is, the absorption rate for the harmful gas, is lower than that of the second infrared ray W2 . Preferably, the reduction rate of the amount of light due to the harmful gas of the first infrared rays W1 may be substantially close to zero.
Accordingly, the first infrared ray W1 passes through the exhaust gas and is not absorbed by the harmful gas in the exhaust gas, and the amount of light may be maintained substantially constant. However, the amount of light of the first infrared ray W1 may be reduced by oil mist in the exhaust gas, like the second infrared ray W2 .
The light receiving
The
The
Meanwhile, a shut-off
The
Therefore, the
The shut-off
However, the present invention is not necessarily limited thereto, and the shut-off
In the present specification, the wavelength may mean a wavelength of a specific value, but is not necessarily limited thereto, and may mean a wavelength of a specific numeric range.
In addition, in this specification, the amount of light may be regarded as being used in the meaning of light intensity or the like.
In the above, the preferred embodiment of the present invention has been mainly described, but this is merely an example and does not limit the present invention. Those of ordinary skill in the art to which the present invention pertains can variously modify and change the embodiment by adding, changing, deleting or adding components within the scope that does not depart from the technical spirit of the present invention described in the claims. It will be possible, and this will also be said to be included within the scope of the present invention.
