Abstract
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a low temperature plasma apparatus for gasification and activation of a combustion reaction, and more particularly, to a low temperature plasma apparatus for gasification and activation of a combustion reaction capable of obtaining a high synthesis gas yield by injecting a small amount of energy .
Generally, the gasification process is a series of processes for making solid fuels containing carbon, for example, coal, into gas fuels such as CO and H 2 . That is, synthesis gas (Syngas, CO + H 2 ) is produced by endothermic reaction with tar in fuel using heat generated by partial oxidation of hydrocarbon composed of hydrocarbon at high temperature / high pressure and CO 2 and H 2 O Technology. Combustible gases produced through this process can be used to produce steam for internal processes or other external purposes, combustion in a boiler for the generation of electricity through a steam turbine, direct burning in a gas turbine or gas engine for the production of electricity, Fuel cells, methanol and other liquid fuels. In particular, the power generation using the gasification process is more efficient and environmentally friendly than the existing power generation by direct combustion, and thus has various advantages that can satisfy the environmental regulation value to be strengthened in the future.
On the other hand, there is a conventional gasification method using a plasma heating technique as a method for gasification of a fuel containing carbon. Such a plasma-based gasification technology has been used for many years. For example, Korean Patent Laid-Open Publication No. 2009-0040406 discloses a gas combustion system using such a plasma heating technique. In general, the state of a substance can be divided into solid, liquid, and gas. When an energy is applied to a gaseous substance, electrons are separated from the atom or molecule, resulting in a plasma state in which electrons and ions are present. Such a plasma is a high-temperature luminescent gas, and is a chemically reactive medium. The plasma apparatus for generating the plasma plays a role of ionizing the gas to increase the reactivity.
Most of the conventional gasification processes using the plasma discharge are used for high temperature plasma discharge. This gasification process by high temperature plasma is a method of maximizing ionization and increasing reaction efficiency by applying a strong electric field in the mixing process of the injection air and coal, and it is possible to gasify a large amount of fuel in a small scale reactor due to high energy density and temperature, Due to the high heat flux, it has been widely used as a conventional gasification method due to various advantages such as fast starting time and stopping time because it reaches the normal condition during operation, and the fuel is not burned for the heat source and the amount of generated exhaust gas is small. However, in the conventional gasification process using the high-temperature plasma, relatively high energy is required to generate the high-temperature plasma. For this reason, there has been an inefficient problem that a considerably high energy must be input for the gasification power generation that generates energy. Further, in order to secure heat resistance due to the occurrence of a high-temperature region, measures have to be taken such as lining the chamber for refurbishing the gas with a refractory material.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a gasification and combustion system capable of operating at atmospheric pressure and capable of high output discharge in order to increase reactivity in a gasification and combustion reaction in a gasification combustion system, By performing a low-temperature plasma discharge of a gas using a dischargeable dielectric barrier discharge device, a gas containing a large amount of radicals and ions is injected into the combustion chamber by a low-temperature plasma discharge by the dielectric barrier discharge device, Temperature plasma apparatus for activating gasification and combustion reaction, which can increase the reactivity of the synthesis gas with the reaction gas, and thereby increase the yield of the finally produced synthesis gas.

When the gas is introduced into the
As described above, according to the present invention, the gas introduced into the combustion chamber (reactor) for activation of the gasification and the combustion reaction is supplied to the dielectric barrier discharge device (not shown) provided in the low
