Abstract

본 발명의 또 다른 실시예에서, 시스템은 프로그램을 선택하고, 광고를 선택하고, 프로그램이 녹화되도록 하고 디스플레이 상에 선택된 프로그램의 재생 중에녹화된 프로그램과 선택된 광고의 통합을 제어하는 프로세서를 포함할 수 있다.
프로세서는 전술한 바와 같이, 프로그램을 선택하여 녹화할 수 있고 광고를 선택할 수 있다. 또한, 프로세서는 선택된 프로그램의 재생 중에 광고 포인트에서 광고를 삽입함으로써 녹화된 프로그램의 재생을 제어할 수 있다. 프로세서는 프로그램 신호 또는 데이터내의 태그를 사용하거나 어떠한 다른 적절한 방법을 사용하여 광고 포인트를 결정할 수 있다. 녹화된 프로그램의 재생 중에 선택된 광고를 삽입함으로써 프로세서가 예컨대, 녹화된 프로그램의 재생을 멈추도록 일시 정지 또는 정지 명령 또는 신호를 전송할 수 있다. 광고가 삽입되어 재생된 다음에, 프로세서는 녹화된 프로그램의 잔여 부분 또는 부분들의 재생을 계속하도록 하는 명령 또는 신호를 전송할 수 있다.

통신 링크(160)는 다이얼업 접속, 광섬유 케이블, 동축 케이블, DSL 접속 또는 바로 그 결합체 등과 같은, 데이터 및/또는 신호를 전달하기 위한 어떠한 적절한 링크일 수 있다.

도 5를 참조하면, 주제 및/또는 키워드로 녹화되도록 프로그램을 지정하는데 사용될 수 있는 프로그램 지정 화면(500)이 설명된다. 프로그램 지정 화면(500)은 주제 선택 메뉴(510) 및 키워드 검색 메뉴(520)를 포함할 수 있다. 메뉴(510, 520)로 사용자는 프로그램 검색 기준을 정의할 수 있다. 주제 선택 메뉴(510)는 개별적으로 선택될 수 있고 사용자로 하여금 특정 주제를 포함하는 프로그램을 검색하게 할 수 있도록 주제 선택셀(515, 516)을 포함할 수 있다. 주제 선택셀(516)은 선택된 주제셀을 나타낸다. 키워드 검색 메뉴(520)는 사용자가 영숫자 텍스트를 입력하여 프로그램의 특정 콘텐츠를 검색할 수 있는 키워드 검색셀(525)을 포함할 수 있다. 메뉴(510, 520)는 결합 또는 별개로 사용될 수 있다. 검색셀(528)은 사용자 프로그램의 검색을 개시하는데 사용될 수 있다.

도 6은 광고가 프로그램의 시작시에 녹화될 수 있고 본 발명의 각종 실시예를 구현하는데 사용될 수 있는 프로세스(600)의 흐름도이다. 프로세스(600)는 단계(620)에서의 선택된 프로그램의 녹화 시작 이전에 단계(610)에서의 광고 녹화를 도시하고 있다.

프로세스(600, 700, 800, 900, 1000)는 프로그램 전에, 프로그램 중에, 및/또는 프로그램 후에 복수의 광고를 녹화하기 위해 어떠한 적절한 결합으로 사용될 수 있다.
도 11은 본 발명의 각종 실시예를 구현하는데 사용될 수 있는 녹화된 프로그램의 재생 중에 광고를 통합하기 위한 프로세스(1100)를 도시하고 있다. 도시한 바와 같이, 단계(1102)에서 프로세스(1100)는 녹화용 프로그램을 선택함으로써 시작될 수 있다. 녹화용 프로그램의 선택은 도 4 및 도 5와 결합하여 설명된 것 등과같이 어떠한 적절한 방식으로 수행될 수 있다. 다음으로 단계(1104)에서, 프로세스(1100)는 프로그램을 녹화할 수 있다. 프로그램의 녹화 시작 후, 심지어 프로그램의 녹화가 종료되기 전의 어느 시점에서, 프로그램의 재생은 단계(1106)에서 개시될 수 있다. 재생은 사용자로부터의 명령에 응답하여 개시되는 것이 바람직하지만, 재생은 자동으로 개시될 수 있다.
