Abstract

기존의 일반 캔 따개는 지렛대의 원리를 이용하도록 고안된 것으로서 캔 따개(1)의 상층부(4)를 들어올리면 접합부(3)를 기준으로 하여 캔의 개방부(2)가 압박되어 밀려내려가 개방부가 개방되도록 한 것이다. 이러한 장치는 지렛대의 원리를 이용하므로서 캔을 따기 위한 힘을 효과적으로 사용할 수는 있으나, 캔 따개 상층부(4)의 아래로 손톱을 삽입하여 캔이 개방될 힘을 가해야 하기 때문에 작은 공간에서 많은 힘을 주어야하는 문제점이 있다. 이러한 문제로 캔을 개방하기가 불편하고 특히 힘이 약한 노약자나 손톱이 긴 여성은 캔을 개방할 수조차 없는 단점을 가지고 있다. 또한 캔의 크기에 따라 차이는 있으나 캔의 가장자리(6)와 캔 따개 상층부(4)와의 간격이 협소하여 손가락을 삽입하기가 불편할 뿐 아니라 위로 들어올리는 힘을 가하기도 불편하도록 되어있다. 또한 캔의 뚜껑(7)과 캔 따개(1)가 밀착되어 있어 손톱이나 손가락을 삽입하기가 대단히 불편하고 힘을 가하기도 어려울 뿐 아니라 간혹 손톱을 다치는 경우까지 발생한다. 이러한 단점을 보완하기 위하여 캔 따개(1)의 길이를 줄이거나 캔 따개 상층부(4) 또는 캔 뚜껑(7)을 굴곡시켜 공간을 확보하는 노력이 진행되고 있으나 이러한 노력의 효과는 한계가 있어 기존의 방법으로는 캔을 개방하는 데의 불편함을 완전히 해소시켜주지는 못하고 있다.The conventional can opener is designed to use the principle of the lever, and when the upper layer 4 of the can opener 1 is lifted, the can 2 is pressed against the junction 3 and pushed out, and the open is opened.
