In general, the AMI system (Advanced Metering Infrastructure System) is a system that remotely reads the usage of various meters such as electricity, gas, water, hot water, and heat installed in consumers who consume energy. In addition, the AMI system automatically collects, analyzes and processes the usage of various meters from the upper system and then provides it back to the customer. In such a typical AMI system, the usage of the electronic power meter installed on the consumer side is collected by a data concentration unit (DCU) using a slave modem and a master modem for AMI and then transmitted to the AMI server.
Figure 1 is a diagram showing a method of calculating remaining battery time of a conventional data concentrator.
Referring to FIG. 1, conventionally, the final remaining battery time was measured by subtracting the power outage time of the data concentrator from the initial remaining battery time. For example, if the initial remaining battery time is 300 hours and the power outage time of the data concentrator is 1 hour, the final remaining battery time is 299 hours.
According to the remaining battery time calculation method of such a conventional data concentrator, there is a problem in that the initial remaining battery time is unclear, and therefore the final remaining battery time is also unclear. Additionally, since it does not reflect the power consumption due to natural discharge of the battery, there is a problem in that an error occurs in the final remaining battery time.

In a device for measuring battery life of a power line communication data concentrator,
Detecting the maximum voltage and minimum voltage of the battery from the battery, subtracting the minimum voltage of the battery from the maximum voltage of the battery, dividing the difference between the maximum voltage and minimum voltage of the battery into preset units to obtain one or more voltages. A voltage section generator that generates a section;
a calculation unit that calculates battery usable time in response to the one or more voltage sections;
a voltage measuring unit that measures the current voltage of the battery; and
A display unit configured to determine which voltage section of the one or more voltage sections the current voltage of the battery belongs to and display the battery usable time,
The calculation unit estimates the remaining capacity (State Of Charge; SOC) of the battery based on the open circuit voltage of the battery and calculates the battery usable time from the remaining capacity of the battery. The open circuit voltage of the battery is the output of the battery. A device for measuring battery usable time, which is set to a voltage that excludes the influence of battery current by subtracting the voltage drop due to battery internal resistance from the voltage.
