Description
The present invention relates to an atmospheric pressure plasma device for treating harmful gases that can easily treat wastes generated from various industrial processes or harmful gases generated from internal combustion engines.
In general, harmful gases such as nitrogen oxides (NOx) are generated in various industrial processes such as semiconductor manufacturing or chemical manufacturing, waste treatment, or internal combustion engines. In order to treat these harmful gases, a technology using atmospheric pressure plasma has been developed.
Specifically, research using a dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) method is being conducted as one of the processing methods using atmospheric plasma.
Dielectric barrier discharge is a method in which a dielectric is inserted between a high voltage electrode and a ground electrode and an alternating voltage is applied to the two electrodes to generate plasma by accelerating electrons in the electric field region between the two electrodes and ionizing the injected gas. It is easy to use, so it is often used in the field of surface cleaning and modification of contaminants.
However, atmospheric pressure plasma of the dielectric barrier discharge method is not suitable for processing a large amount of gas because it can use a gas flow rate of mL per minute.
Accordingly, as a technology for processing a large amount of harmful gas, a method of utilizing a torch-type atmospheric pressure plasma device operated by an AC power source in an atmospheric pressure state is being studied.
Specifically, the atmospheric pressure plasma device uses air or nitrogen as a plasma generating gas, and can process several tens of liters of gas per minute when used in combination with a catalyst.
However, the conventional torch-type plasma device is suitable for using room-temperature gas and not suitable for using high-temperature gas, and the gas tightness of the plasma device is low, so harmful gases to be treated may leak.
In addition, most of the noxious gases contain water vapor, and the water vapor contained in these noxious gases may cause unstable plasma discharge. In severe cases, there is a problem that the plasma can be turned off by the water vapor.

Referring back to FIG. 1 , the

As the
More specifically, in general, the wetting characteristics of the surface of the object (electrode front body) can be controlled according to the size of the water vapor particles when the vapor particles are sprayed. That is, when the water vapor particles are large, the water vapor particles are ruptured by collision on the surface of the object, and the surface of the object may be wet. Conversely, when the water vapor particles are small, they are not ruptured when they collide with the surface of the object, but are bounced off after colliding, and accordingly, the surface of the object may not be wet.
On the other hand, when the

That is, by controlling the particle size of water vapor through the

That is, the surface of the product can be cleanly cleaned by spraying the plasma gas discharged through the gas outlet C1 of the plasma chamber C toward the surface of the product to be cleaned.
When cleaning the surface of a product using the plasma gas, the surface may be dried by plasma ions, and at this time, static electricity may be generated.
In this case, a
