Description
The present invention relates to a thermoplastic resin composition and a molded article formed therefrom. More specifically, the present invention relates to a thermoplastic resin composition having excellent impact resistance, rigidity, etc. and reducing the residual amount of a vinyl cyanide-based compound, and a molded article formed therefrom.
A rubber-modified aromatic vinyl-based copolymer resin such as an acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer (ABS) resin is typically a rubber-modified vinyl-based graft copolymer and an aromatic vinyl-vinyl-cyanide-based copolymer resin. It has excellent mechanical properties such as impact property and rigidity, and excellent adhesion to urethane for fixing the filter, so it can be applied to a water purifier filter housing.
However, in order for the rubber-modified aromatic vinyl copolymer resin to be applied as a water purifier filter housing, the content of residual vinyl cyanide compounds must be lowered in accordance with the NSF42 standard as it is intended for direct contact with drinking water.
To this end, a method of lowering the content of the vinyl cyanide compound (monomer) in the aromatic vinyl-vinyl cyanide copolymer resin was considered, but this method reduces the content of the vinyl cyanide compound in the resin, and the rubber-modified aromatic vinyl copolymer There is a problem in that the mechanical properties of the resin and the like decrease.
As another method, there is a method of reducing the residual amount of the vinyl cyanide compound by improving the conversion rate during polymerization of the aromatic vinyl-vinyl cyanide-based copolymer resin, but there is a problem in that it is difficult to apply in practice due to reduced productivity.
Therefore, there is a need to develop a thermoplastic resin composition having excellent impact resistance, rigidity, and the like, and capable of reducing the residual amount of the vinyl cyanide-based compound.
