구체적으로, 본 발명은 신규한 그래핀 코팅된 무기 입자의 제조 방법 및 이에 따라 제조된 그래핀 코팅된 무기 입자를 제공한다.Specifically, the present invention provides a novel method for producing graphene-coated inorganic particles and graphene-coated inorganic particles prepared accordingly.
먼저 이하에서, 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 그래핀 방열 소재의 제조 방법을 설명하기로 한다.First, a method of manufacturing a graphene heat dissipation material according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described below.
In the method for producing graphene-coated inorganic particles according to an embodiment of the present invention, the inorganic particles are added to a surface treatment solution containing a coupling agent to prepare a first mixed solution (A), the first mixed solution agitating (B), filtering and drying the first mixed solution to obtain inorganic particles having a functional group bonded to the surface (C); preparing a second mixed solution by injecting the surface-treated inorganic particles into a solution containing non-oxidized graphene (D); and stirring the second mixed solution (E).
종래 그래핀을 다른 입자에 코팅할 경우, 산화 그래핀을 주로 사용하였는데, 이러한 산화 그래핀은 표면에 작용기가 다량으로 존재하여, 분산도 용이하고 입자에 대한 코팅도 용이하였다. 그러나, 상기 산화 그래핀의 경우, 전술한 바와 같이 구조적 또는 화학적으로 존재하던 다수의 결함으로 인한 문제점이 있었다.Conventionally, when graphene was coated on other particles, graphene oxide was mainly used. Such graphene oxide has a large amount of functional groups on the surface, so it is easy to disperse and to coat the particles. However, in the case of the graphene oxide, as described above, there was a problem due to a number of defects that existed structurally or chemically.
비산화 그래핀은 결함의 수는 상기 산화 그래핀에 비해 적었으나, 표면에 작용기가 부족하여 일반적인 방법에 의해 무기 입자 표면에 코팅하기 어려웠다.The non-oxidized graphene had fewer defects than the oxidized graphene, but it was difficult to coat the surface of the inorganic particles by a general method due to the lack of functional groups on the surface.
본 출원의 발명자들은 이를 해결하기 위해, 소정의 표면 처리 용액에 의해 무기 입자 표면에 작용기를 생성함으로써, 상기 작용기를 통해 무기 입자 표면에 대한 비산화 그래핀 코팅이 가능하도록 하였다.In order to solve this problem, the inventors of the present application created a functional group on the surface of the inorganic particle by a predetermined surface treatment solution, thereby enabling non-oxidized graphene coating on the surface of the inorganic particle through the functional group.
The preparation step (A) of the first mixed solution is a step for easily adhering the coupling agent to the surface of the inorganic particles by hydrolyzing the coupling agent with the solvent of the surface treatment solution. Specifically, the coupling agent (eg, silane-based coupling agent) meets with a solvent (eg, moisture), and decomposition (eg, hydrolysis) proceeds, thereby forming a group (eg, Through condensation (eg, dehydration condensation) of a silanol group) with another group (-OH group) on the surface of the inorganic particle, the surface of the inorganic particle can be modified.
In the preparation step (A) of the first mixed solution, the coupling agent is 3-aminopropyl triethoxy silane (APTES), 3-glycidoxypropyl trimethoxysilane (3-glycidoxypropyl trimethoxysilane) ), Triton X-100 (2-[4-(2,4,4-trimethylpentan-2-yl)phenoxy]ethanol), polyvinyl acetate (PVA), or a combination thereof. For example, the coupling agent may be APTES or Triton X-100, but is not limited thereto.
예를 들어, 상기 PVA의 중량 평균 분자량은 10000 내지 50000일 수 있다.For example, the weight average molecular weight of the PVA may be 10000 to 50000.
이때, 상기 커플링제의 함량은 특별히 한정되지 않으나, 예를 들어, 표면 처리 용액 100 ml 당 0.01 g 내지 1.0 g의 양으로 포함될 수 있다.At this time, the content of the coupling agent is not particularly limited, but may be included, for example, in an amount of 0.01 g to 1.0 g per 100 ml of the surface treatment solution.
상기 표면 처리 용액은 탈이온수(D.I.W), 에탄올, 아세트산, 또는 이들의 조합인 용매를 포함할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 상기 표면 처리 용액은 탈이온수일 수 있으나, 이에 한정되는 것은 아니다.The surface treatment solution may include a solvent that is deionized water (D.I.W), ethanol, acetic acid, or a combination thereof. For example, the surface treatment solution may be deionized water, but is not limited thereto.
상기 제1 혼합 용액의 제조 단계(A)에서, 상기 무기 입자는 알루미늄(Al), 알루미나(Al2O3), 구리(Cu), 질화 붕소(BN), 질화 알루미늄(AlN), 실리콘 카바이드(SiC), 또는 이들의 조합일 수 있다.In the manufacturing step (A) of the first mixed solution, the inorganic particles are aluminum (Al), alumina (Al 2 O 3 ), copper (Cu), boron nitride (BN), aluminum nitride (AlN), silicon carbide ( SiC), or a combination thereof.
예를 들어, 상기 제1 혼합 용액을 교반하는 단계(B)는 마그네틱바, 호모게나이저, 또는 임펠라 등에 의해 진행될 수 있다. 이를 통해, 무기 입자와 커플링제를 용액 중 용이하게 분산시킬 수 있다.For example, the step (B) of stirring the first mixed solution may be performed by a magnetic bar, a homogenizer, or an impeller. Through this, the inorganic particles and the coupling agent can be easily dispersed in the solution.
상기 교반이 끝난 후, 상기 제1 혼합 용액을 예를 들어, 여과지 및/또는 필터를 이용하여 파우더를 여과한 후, 건조 및 세척을 진행하여, 표면에 작용기가 결합된 무기 입자를 얻는다(단계(C)).After the stirring is finished, the powder of the first mixed solution is filtered using, for example, filter paper and/or a filter, and then dried and washed to obtain inorganic particles having a functional group bonded to the surface (step ( C)).
상기 작용기의 결합은 전술한 바와 같이, 무기 입자 표면에 존재하던 소정의 작용기(예를 들어, -OH기 등)와 가수 분해된 커플링제 간의 축합 반응에 의한 것일 수 있다.The binding of the functional group may be due to a condensation reaction between a predetermined functional group (eg, -OH group, etc.) existing on the surface of the inorganic particle and a hydrolyzed coupling agent, as described above.
이어서, 상기 표면 처리된 무기 입자를 비산화 그래핀을 포함한 용액에 투입하여, 제2 혼합 용액을 제조한다(단계(D)).Then, the surface-treated inorganic particles are added to a solution containing non-oxidized graphene to prepare a second mixed solution (step (D)).
상기 비산화 그래핀을 포함한 용액은 예를 들어, 탈이온수 또는 유기 용매에 상기 비산화 그래핀을 분산시켜 제조될 수 있다.The solution including the non-oxidized graphene may be prepared by dispersing the non-oxidized graphene in, for example, deionized water or an organic solvent.
For example, the organic solvent is ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, dimethylformamide (N,N-Dimethylformamide, DMF), dimethyl sulfoxide (Dimethyl sulfoxide, DMSO), methylpyrrolidone (N-Methyl-2-Pyrrolidone, NMP), chloroform, dichloromethane, dichloroethane, benzene, xylene, acetonitrile, and mixtures thereof, but is not limited thereto.
이때, 상기 유기 용매에 투입되는 비산화 그래핀의 농도는 특별히 한정되지 않으나, 예를 들어, 유기 용매 총 중량을 기준으로 0.1wt% 내지 5wt%일 수 있다.In this case, the concentration of non-oxidized graphene added to the organic solvent is not particularly limited, but may be, for example, 0.1 wt% to 5 wt% based on the total weight of the organic solvent.
또한, 상기 유기 용매에 상기 비산화 그래핀을 분산시키기 전에, 상기 비산화 그래핀의 분산을 용이하기 위해, 유기 용매에 먼저 아민계 분산제를 투입할 수 있다.In addition, before dispersing the non-oxidized graphene in the organic solvent, in order to facilitate dispersion of the non-oxidized graphene, an amine-based dispersant may be first added to the organic solvent.
또한, 상기 비산화 그래핀의 용이한 분산을 위해, 상기 유기 용매에 비산화 그래핀을 투입한 이후, 균질기(homogenizer)를 사용할 수 있다.In addition, for easy dispersion of the non-oxidized graphene, a homogenizer may be used after the non-oxidized graphene is added to the organic solvent.
상기 비산화 그래핀은 구조적 결함(vacancy, 예를 들어 sp3 탄소)을 실질적으로 포함하지 않을 수 있다.The non-oxidized graphene may include substantially no structural defects (eg, sp 3 carbon).
For example, non-oxidized graphene may have an I D /I G value of 0.3 or less, which is the ratio of the D peak intensity ( ID ) to the G peak intensity ( IG ) in the Raman spectrum measurement result. The I D /I G value indicates the quality of graphene, and it can be seen that the lower (ie, the lower the D peak intensity compared to the G peak intensity), the better the quality of the graphene. For example, the I D /I G value can be 0.25 or less, 0.23 or less, 0.01 to 0.3, 0.01 to 0.3, 0.01 to 0.25, 0.01 to 0.23, 0.16 to 0.23. Here, the D peak appears when elastic scattering by phonons with energy and elastic scattering around the defect/substitution point occur in succession regardless of the order. It appears large, and the G peak is a peak that is commonly seen in graphite-related materials.
즉, 비산화 그래핀의 D 피크 강도는 G 피크 강도에 비해 현저히 낮은 값을 갖는데, 이러한 비산화 그래핀의 D 피크 강도 또한, 박리 전 흑연 자체에 의한 것이거나, 그래핀의 엣지(edge)에 기인한 것으로, 그래핀의 기저면 결함(basal plane defect) 또는 sp3 결함은 거의 존재하지 않아, 비산화 그래핀은 실질적으로 비결함 특성을 갖는다.That is, the D peak intensity of the non-oxidized graphene has a significantly lower value than the G peak intensity. As a result, graphene has almost no basal plane defect or sp 3 defect, so non-oxidized graphene has substantially non-defect properties.
예를 들어, 비산화 그래핀은 산소 함유량이 1 원자%(atomic percent) 이하일 수 있다. 예를 들어, 비산화 그래핀은 산소 함유량이 0.001 내지 1 원자%(atomic percent)일 수 있다. For example, non-oxidized graphene may have an oxygen content of 1 atomic percent or less. For example, non-oxidized graphene may have an oxygen content of 0.001 to 1 atomic percent.
상기 비산화 그래핀에 함유된 산소는 실질적으로 그래핀과 결합하지 않는 상태일 수 있다. Oxygen contained in the non-oxidized graphene may be in a state that does not substantially combine with the graphene.
예를 들어, 상기 비산화 그래핀의 전기 전도도는 1.0×104 S/m 이상일 수 있다. 예를 들어, 상기 비산화 그래핀의 전기 전도도는 1.0×104 내지 1.0×107 S/m일 수 있다. For example, the electrical conductivity of the non-oxidized graphene may be 1.0×10 4 S/m or more. For example, the electrical conductivity of the non-oxidized graphene may be 1.0×10 4 to 1.0×10 7 S/m.
예를 들어, 상기 비산화 그래핀의 열전도도는 1000 W/m·K 이상일 수 있다.For example, the thermal conductivity of the non-oxidized graphene may be 1000 W/m·K or more.
이어서, 상기 제2 혼합 용액을 교반하는 단계(E)는 마그네틱바, 호모게나이저, 또는 임펠라 등에 의해 진행될 수 있다. Subsequently, the step (E) of stirring the second mixed solution may be performed by a magnetic bar, a homogenizer, or an impeller.
As described above, the graphene-coated inorganic particles according to an embodiment of the present invention can minimize structural defects and exhibit excellent conductivity by using non-oxidized graphene. In addition, the method for preparing the graphene-coated inorganic particles of the present invention can easily coat non-oxidized graphene on the inorganic particles. In addition, the method of manufacturing the graphene-coated inorganic particles of the present invention can exhibit excellent thermal conductivity by minimizing damage to the inorganic particles during the graphene coating.
이하에서, 본 발명의 이해를 돕기 위한 예시적인 제조 방법에 대하여 설명한다.Hereinafter, an exemplary manufacturing method for helping understanding of the present invention will be described.

4. 열처리4. Heat treatment
퍼니스에서 500℃에서 3시간 동안 질소 분위기에서 어닐링을 진행하였다.Annealing was performed in a nitrogen atmosphere at 500° C. for 3 hours in a furnace.
상기에서 제조된 비산화 그래핀 코팅된 무기 입자와, 종래의 산화 그래핀으로 코팅된 무기 입자의 라만 스펙트럼을 측정하였다.Raman spectra of the non-oxidized graphene-coated inorganic particles prepared above and the conventional graphene-oxide-coated inorganic particles were measured.
먼저, 종래 산화 그래핀의 라만 스펙트럼(도 1)과, 이러한 산화 그래핀을 환원한 그래핀의 라만 스펙트럼(도 2) 및 비산화 그래핀의 라만 스펙트럼(도 3)을 각각 측정하였다.First, a Raman spectrum of conventional graphene oxide (FIG. 1), a Raman spectrum of graphene obtained by reducing such graphene oxide (FIG. 2), and a Raman spectrum of non-oxidized graphene (FIG. 3) were respectively measured.
도 1, 도 2 및 도 3을 참조하면, 그래핀의 ID/IG 값을 확인할 수 있다. 도 1의 산화 그래핀(GO)의 ID/IG 값은 0.84이고, 도 2의 환원 그래핀(RGO)의 ID/IG 값은 0.88이고, 도 3의 비산화 그래핀(GO)의 ID/IG 값은 0.04이었다. 이를 통해, 비산화 그래핀의 ID/IG 값이 산화/환원 그래핀(GO/rGO)의 ID/IG 값에 비해 현저히 낮음을 볼 수 있는데, 비산화 그래핀은 산화/환원 그래핀(GO/rGO)에 비해 결함이 현저히 적음을 확인할 수 있다.Referring to FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 , the I D /I G value of graphene can be confirmed. The I D /I G value of graphene oxide (GO) of Figure 1 is 0.84, the I D /I G value of the reduced graphene (RGO) of Figure 2 is 0.88, and the non-oxidized graphene (GO) of Figure 3 The I D /I G value of was 0.04. Through this, it can be seen that the I D /I G value of non-oxidized graphene is significantly lower than that of oxidized/reduced graphene (GO/rGO ) . It can be seen that there are significantly fewer defects compared to fins (GO/rGO).
도 4는 종래의 산화 그래핀에 의해 코팅된 무기 입자의 라만 스펙트럼을 도시한 것이고, 도 5는 본 발명에 따른 비산화 그래핀에 의해 코팅된 무기 입자의 라만 스펙트럼을 도시한 것이다.4 shows a Raman spectrum of inorganic particles coated with conventional graphene oxide, and FIG. 5 shows a Raman spectrum of inorganic particles coated with non-oxidized graphene according to the present invention.
Referring to FIG. 4 , as described above, it can be confirmed that conventional graphene oxide includes various functional groups and can be easily coated on inorganic particles. However, since the coating was carried out with graphene oxide, which had a high I D /I G value, it can be confirmed that the inorganic particles coated with graphene oxide also have high I D /I G values ( I D /I G = 0.88 of inorganic particles).
도 5를 도 4와 함께 비교하면, 본 발명에 따른 비산화 그래핀 코팅된 무기 입자는 낮은 ID/IG 값을 유지하면서도(비산화 그래핀에 의해 코팅된 무기 입자의 ID/IG= 0.28), 무기 입자 표면에 비산화 그래핀이 적절히 코팅되어 있음을 확인할 수 있다.Comparing FIG. 5 with FIG. 4, the non-oxidized graphene-coated inorganic particles according to the present invention maintain a low I D /I G value (I D /I G of inorganic particles coated with non-oxidized graphene) = 0.28), it can be confirmed that non-oxidized graphene is properly coated on the surface of the inorganic particles.
이상과 같이, 본 발명은 비록 한정된 실시예와 도면에 의해 설명되었으나, 본 발명은 이것에 의해 한정되지 않으며 본 발명이 속하는 기술분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자에 의해 본 발명의 기술 사상과 아래에 기재될 청구범위의 균등 범위 내에서 다양한 수정 및 변형이 가능함은 물론이다.As described above, although the present invention has been described with reference to limited embodiments and drawings, the present invention is not limited thereto, and the technical spirit of the present invention and the following by those of ordinary skill in the art to which the present invention pertains. It goes without saying that various modifications and variations are possible within the equivalent scope of the claims to be described.
