Description
The present invention relates to a touch screen panel and a method of manufacturing the touch screen panel, and more particularly, in a touch screen panel integrated into a display device, it is possible to minimize the size of the pad area while applying a double routing structure. It relates to a touch screen panel and a method of manufacturing the touch screen panel.
In a general display device, a touch screen is implemented by attaching a touch screen panel on an upper substrate. In such a display device, since the touch screen panel is separately manufactured and attached to the outer surface of the display device, the overall thickness of the display device is increased, and there is a possibility that the visibility of an image may be deteriorated due to the increased thickness.
Recently, in order to solve the above problems, an in-cell type touch screen-integrated display device in which a touch screen panel is integrated into a display device has been developed.
A sensing electrode for sensing a user's touch input is disposed under an upper substrate in a touch screen panel of a conventional in-cell type touch screen integrated display device. The touch screen panel is a capacitive touch screen panel capable of sensing a user's touch input by using a change in capacitance between sensing electrodes. In addition, the touch screen panel includes an upper pad for transmitting sensing signals from sensing electrodes formed on the upper substrate to a flexible printed circuit board (FPCB) bonded to the lower substrate. In addition, a lower pad for transmitting a sensing signal from the upper pad to the flexible printed circuit board is formed on the lower substrate. The upper pad of the upper substrate and the lower pad of the lower substrate are electrically connected, and a sensing signal is transmitted to the lower substrate flexible printed circuit board.
Accordingly, when the number of upper pads of the upper substrate increases, the number of lower pads of the lower substrate inevitably increases, and the area occupied by the upper pad and the lower pad increases. When the area occupied by the upper pad and the lower pad increases, the bezel of the in-cell type touch screen integrated display device increases. Area has become an important factor.

1. Touch screen panel (Korean Patent Application No. 2012-0103790)
As the display device becomes thinner and smaller, the thickness and width of the sensing electrode of the touch screen panel of the touch screen integrated display device also become smaller. When the thickness and width of the sensing electrode are reduced, the resistance of the sensing electrode is increased, and the RC delay, which is a time delay between charging and discharging of the capacitor formed between the sensing electrodes, increases.
When the RC delay is increased, the sensing speed of the touch screen panel is slowed, and thus the quality of the touch screen panel such as sensing sensitivity may be deteriorated. After all, there is a trade-off relationship between the RC delay that slows the sensing speed of the touch screen panel and the degree of thinning of the touch screen panel. Accordingly, there is a problem in that the RC delay must be sufficiently low while forming the sensing electrode of the touch screen panel to be smaller.
As one of the methods for improving the RC delay, a double routing structure may be employed in the touch screen panel. The double routing structure is a structure that reduces the RC delay by connecting both ends of the sensing electrode in the touch screen panel to the routing wiring.
However, when both ends of the sensing electrode are respectively connected with separate routing wires, two routing wires are connected per one sensing electrode, and two pads are required per one sensing electrode. That is, the number of upper pads formed on the upper substrate may be twice the number of upper pads of a conventional touch screen panel that connects only one side of the sensing electrode with a routing wire.
As the number of upper pads formed on the upper substrate increases, the number of corresponding lower pads increases, and consequently, an area of a region occupied by the lower pad in the lower substrate increases. When the area of the pad area is increased, a bezel is increased, which may cause problems in thinning and miniaturization of the display device.
Accordingly, the inventors of the present invention invent a touch screen panel having a new structure capable of minimizing the number of pads even if a double routing structure is applied to reduce RC delay in a touch screen panel in a touch screen integrated display device did

The
Referring to FIG. 2 , a plurality of
The insulating
The first
When the double routing structure in which both ends (EEA1, EEA2) of the
On the other hand, even with a double routing structure, if a separate routing wire is connected to each of the first end (EEA1) and the second end (EEA2) of the
However, in the
1 and 2, the first end (EEA1) and the second end (EEA2) of the
3 is a schematic plan view illustrating a touch screen panel according to another embodiment of the present invention.
