The present invention relates to a current collector for a secondary battery electrode, and in particular, in a lithium secondary battery including a multi-row stacked electrode to obtain high energy and high output, porous to reduce resistance in the electrode and facilitate movement of lithium ions It relates to a current collector formed of a conductor.
With the increase in technology development and demand for mobile devices, there is an urgent need to develop a small, lightweight, long-lasting, and reliable high-performance small secondary battery. In addition, there is a growing demand for the development of electric vehicles, which are one of the solutions to environmental and energy problems, and large secondary batteries for efficient use of late-night idle power. In order to meet this demand, a lot of research has been done on lithium secondary batteries.
Lithium secondary batteries can be divided into lithium metal batteries and lithium ion batteries using an organic solvent electrolyte, and lithium polymer batteries using solid polymer electrolytes, depending on the type of electrolyte.
Of these, lithium polymer batteries have a solid electrolyte, so there is no concern about electrolyte leakage, so stability is secured. there is.
On the other hand, as the number of charge and discharge increases in lithium secondary batteries, resistance components are generated at the interface between the positive electrode active material and the electrolyte, the negative electrode active material and the electrolyte, and the electrolyte itself, and the flow of lithium ions is disturbed, so the lifespan and capacity decrease. will do
In particular, the resistance component is mainly generated by the decomposition reaction of the electrolyte that occurs on the positive electrode side. The decomposition reaction of the electrolyte generates a lot of gas to reduce the contact inside the battery to increase the resistance, or to increase the viscosity of the electrolyte to increase the lithium ion It interferes with the flow of the battery, there is a problem that the life and capacity of the battery is reduced.

An object of the present invention is to solve the resistance problem as described above, and in a lithium secondary battery including a multi-row stacked electrode in order to obtain high energy and high output, reduce the resistance in the electrode, and porous to facilitate the movement of lithium ions An object of the present invention is to provide a current collector formed of a conductor.
The present invention provides a current collector formed of a porous conductor to reduce resistance within the electrode and facilitate movement of lithium ions in a lithium secondary battery including electrodes stacked in multiple rows to obtain high energy and high output.
According to the current collector formed of the porous conductor of the present invention, by reducing the resistance in the electrode of the secondary battery including the multi-row stacked electrode for high energy and high output, and by facilitating the movement of lithium ions, the secondary battery including the same It is possible to obtain the effect of improving the output and lifespan of

Advantages and features of the present invention, and methods for achieving them, will become apparent with reference to the embodiments described below in detail in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. However, the present invention is not limited to the embodiments disclosed below, but will be implemented in a variety of different forms, and only the present embodiment is intended to complete the disclosure of the present invention, and it is common knowledge in the art to which the present invention pertains. It is provided to fully inform those who have the scope of the invention, and the present invention is only defined by the scope of the claims. Like reference numerals refer to like elements throughout.
Hereinafter, a current collector for a secondary battery electrode according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
The current collector for a secondary battery electrode of the present invention is included in the electrode of the secondary battery, and includes a porous conductor as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 .
That is, in each electrode, the current collector containing the porous conductor serves as a kind of channel so that lithium ions can actively move through the pores in the active material layer located inside the current collector among the multi-row stacked unit electrodes. As a result, the resistance is further reduced, and the movement of lithium ions becomes smooth, so that it is possible to obtain the effect of improving the output and lifespan of the secondary battery.
In the present invention, the transmittance of the porous conductor may be 45 to 95%, more preferably 60 to 85%. When the transmittance is less than 45%, the conductivity of lithium ions is low due to the low transmittance, so that the resistance is increased, and the output and lifespan of the secondary battery are inferior. When it exceeds 95%, the conductivity of lithium ions is increased due to the high permeability, but since the area occupied by the conducting wire of the porous conductor is reduced, the electronic conductivity is lowered and the characteristics of the secondary battery are deteriorated.
In the present invention, the material of the porous conductor may be at least one selected from aluminum foil, copper foil, nickel foil, copper mesh, and carbon mesh. In particular, it is preferable that the porous conductor included in the negative electrode current collector has electronic conductivity while exhibiting electrochemical inactivity in the operating range of the carbon electrode (0.01 to 3V compared to lithium at the standard potential).
In the present invention, the thickness of the porous conductor may be 4 ~ 30㎛, more preferably 6 ~ 20㎛. If the thickness is less than 4㎛, there is a problem of electrode deterioration due to heat generation of the electrode as it becomes a thin-film conductor as a porous conductor that acts as a conductor. As it increases, there is a problem of increasing the resistance of the electrode.
In the present invention, the average diameter of the pores of the porous conductor is preferably 300 nm to 900 nm, particularly 500 nm to 900 nm.
The average diameter of the pores corresponds to (D) in the current collector schematically shown in FIG. 3 , and when the average diameter of the pores is less than 300 nm, the resistance increases and the life and output characteristics of the secondary battery decrease, and when it exceeds 900 nm There is a problem in securing a quantitative coating thickness due to pores larger than the active material.
In one embodiment of the present invention, the porous conductor may include three-dimensional open pores or closed pores.
That is, the porous conductor of the present invention may include three-dimensional open pores or closed pores formed by polymer decomposition, as shown in FIG. 1 .
In a three-dimensional porous conductor, an open pore refers to a structure in which pores are connected to each other, and a closed pore refers to a structure in which pores and pores are blocked with a conductive metal.
Among them, the open pores serve to provide a passage through which lithium ions can permeate in a three-dimensional structure by connecting the pores. should be
When the open pores are less than 40% of the total volume of the pores, it is difficult for lithium ions to move smoothly. Since the resistance of the electrode increases, the output characteristics and lifespan of the secondary battery may be deteriorated.
Methods for forming pores of a three-dimensional porous conductor A dry method and a wet method are possible. The dry method is a method of securing pores by generating microscopic balls at the lamellar crystal interface while stretching the extruded foil. The wet method is a method of securing pores by uniformly mixing a polymer and a plasticizer at a high temperature, inducing phase separation while cooling, and then removing the plasticizer. In addition, pores may be secured by mixing the inorganic powder and the like in addition to the polymer and the plasticizer and then removing the inorganic powder together with the plasticizer. When the inorganic powder is mixed, the pore diameter is large and the porosity can be increased.
Meanwhile, in another embodiment of the present invention, the porous conductor may have a two-dimensional open pore structure.
That is, the porous conductor of the present invention may include a two-dimensional open pore structure formed by a laser, as shown in FIG. 2 .
In the two-dimensional porous conductor, the open pores mean a pore structure formed through the porous conductor so that lithium ions can move.
For the formation of pores of a porous conductor having a two-dimensional open pore structure, a method of securing pores by inputting pore size and pitch values to the metal foil fabric in advance, checking the size of the foil through a scanner, and irradiating a laser can be used.
The present invention also includes an electrode assembly including an electrode and a separator manufactured by applying an active material to a current collector including the above-described porous conductor.
When the positive electrode active material is applied to the current collector including the porous conductor of the present invention, the electrode becomes a positive electrode. A chalcogenide compound may be used as a cathode active material that can be used in the present invention, for example, LiCoO 2 , LiMn 2 O 4 , LiNiO 2 , LiNi 1-x Co x O 2 (0<x<1), LiMnO 2 Although complex metal oxides such as these are used, the present invention is not limited thereto.
When the negative electrode active material is applied to the current collector including the porous conductor of the present invention, the electrode becomes the negative electrode. As a negative active material that can be used in the present invention, carbon-based materials, Si, Sn, tin oxide, tin alloy composite, transition metal oxide, lithium metal nitride, lithium metal oxide, etc. are used, but limiting the material in the present invention is no.
In the present invention, since the electrode can be stacked in multiple rows of two or more unit electrodes, the resistance applied to the electrode is lowered in inverse proportion to the number of stacked electrodes, and lithium ions move smoothly through the porous conductor, Since the resistance can be further lowered, the output and lifespan characteristics of the secondary battery can be improved.
