Description
The present invention is a surface light emitting device and a method of manufacturing the same, by manufacturing an ultraviolet light surface light emitting device in which a metal electrode shape is formed on a sapphire substrate having high ultraviolet light transmittance or a single crystal anode substrate made of a highly transparent transparent substrate to reduce ultraviolet light absorption loss. The present invention relates to a surface light-emitting device using a single crystal substrate anode having a high ultraviolet light transmittance and a method of manufacturing the same.
Ultraviolet light sources (UV-A, B, C) are widely applied in fields such as exposure light sources for semiconductor etching processes, environmental fields using sterilization or photochemical reactions, medical sterilization, or decomposition of environmental pollutants or water quality management. I am looking forward to it.
The conventional ultraviolet light source is mainly a mercury lamp (luminescence wavelength ~ 254nm) is used. However, a mercury lamp requires a high voltage source, has a delayed start-up time, and has a short lifespan.
In the case of ultraviolet light emitting diodes (LEDs) that are commercially available recently, ultraviolet light emission at a short wavelength of up to 210 nm has been reported, but the price of ultraviolet light LEDs is very high, and luminous output, external quantum efficiency, and light extraction efficiency There is still a need for much improvement on the back.
The shorter the wavelength including ultraviolet light, the higher the transmission loss for most optical materials. This means that the penetration depth through which ultraviolet light can propagate into the optical material is shortened. Therefore, in the application of ultraviolet light wavelength, it can be said that a surface light emitting device capable of irradiating a wide area compared to the conventional point light source is more suitable. However, such research is insufficient.
Conventional surface light emitting devices include flat-panel displays such as a plasma display or a field emission device (FED), and an electroluminescence (EL) device. The common point of these devices is that various methods are used to supply energy required for light emission to a light emitting layer having a large area so that light emission occurs in a large area.
It is believed that a light emitting device that can effectively utilize ultraviolet light is needed for an ultraviolet light device, and thus various methods of manufacturing an ultraviolet light emitting device were invented. Korean Patent Publication 10-2012-0064866'Electroluminescent ultraviolet light emitting device and its manufacturing method' , Patent Publication No. 10-0991875'Electron emission type light emitting device and light emitting method', and Patent Publication No. 10-0312510'Field emission device using carbon nanotubes' correspond to such technologies.
The'electroluminescent ultraviolet light emitting device and its manufacturing method' is a surface light source in the structure of a cathode using a ZnO nanorod on an ITO-coated silicon dioxide substrate, and an anode using an AIN emission layer on an ITO-coated silicon dioxide substrate. However, there is a limit to the efficient absorption of ultraviolet light on the substrate.
The'electron emission type light emitting device and light emitting method' is composed of a cathode structure, an anode structure, a fluorescent layer and a low pressure base layer, and is easy to manufacture with relatively high luminous efficiency using a lean gas and vacuum (vacuum as possible). There is a limit to the effective absorption of ultraviolet light and the application of the shape and thickness of the electrode pattern.
The'field emission device using carbon nanotubes' consists of a cathode, a carbon nanotube emitter, a gate electrode, and a protective layer, so that the carbon nanotubes are not directly exposed to the anode by the protective layer, so a high voltage can be applied to the anode. Although it can be applied to a display device using a high-voltage phosphor, applications including large-area light sources are limited due to the limitation of efficient ultraviolet light absorption and surface emission.
