Description
BACKGROUND OF THE
Although liquid crystal display devices have various display modes according to the arrangement of liquid crystal molecules, TN mode liquid crystal display devices are mainly used because of the advantages of easy monochrome display, fast response speed, and low driving voltage. In such a TN mode liquid crystal display device, liquid crystal molecules aligned horizontally with the substrate are almost perpendicular to the substrate when a voltage is applied. Therefore, there is a problem that the viewing angle is narrowed upon application of voltage due to the refractive anisotropy of the liquid crystal molecules.
In order to solve the viewing angle problem, liquid crystal display devices of various modes having wide viewing angle characteristics are currently used, but among them, the liquid crystal display device of the lateral field mode (In Plane Switching Mode) is applied to actual production. Is being produced. The IPS mode liquid crystal display device aligns liquid crystal molecules in a plane by forming at least one pair of electrodes arranged in parallel in a pixel to form a transverse electric field substantially parallel to the substrate.
1 is a view showing the structure of one pixel of a conventional IPS mode liquid crystal display device. FIG. 1A is a plan view and FIG. 1B is a sectional view taken along line II ′ of FIG. 1A. As shown in FIG. 1A, pixels of the
In the pixel, a plurality of
In the IPS mode liquid crystal display device configured as described above, the liquid crystal molecules are aligned substantially in parallel with the
The conventional IPS mode liquid crystal display device having the above structure will be described in more detail with reference to the cross-sectional view of FIG. 1B.
As shown in FIG. 1B, a
In addition, a plurality of
The
In the IPS mode liquid crystal display device, a transverse electric field parallel to the
However, in the IPS mode liquid crystal display device as described above, when the electric field perpendicular to the liquid crystal panel 1 (the direction from the
There may be various reasons for generating an electric field perpendicular to the
In order to remove such static electricity, in the conventional IPS mode liquid crystal display device, as shown in FIG. 2, a conductive material for removing static electricity is formed of a transparent conductive material such as indium tin oxide (ITO) over the entire rear surface of the
However, the following problems occur in the IPS mode liquid crystal display device having the above structure.
3A is a plan view showing the structure of a conventional IPS mode liquid crystal display device, and FIG. 3B is an enlarged view of region A of FIG. 3A.
As shown in FIG. 3A, the IPS mode liquid
The
As shown in FIG. 3B, the
However, in the conventional liquid crystal display device having the above structure, various wirings such as the
On the other hand, in recent years, in order to improve the effect and portability of the decoration of the display element, there is an increasing demand to minimize the bezel constituting the outside of the display area. However, as described above, in the conventional liquid crystal display device, since various wirings are arranged in the dummy region D, there is a limit in reducing the area of the dummy region D. As a result, there is a limit in reducing the bezel.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been made in view of the above, and by placing a silver dot on the common wiring of the dummy region and electrically connecting the conductive layer for removing static electricity of the second substrate with the common wiring, the ground is removed from the dummy region. An object of the present invention is to provide a liquid crystal display device that can be minimized.
In order to achieve the above object, the liquid crystal display device according to the present invention comprises a first substrate including a display area including a plurality of pixel areas, the actual image is implemented and a dummy area formed outside the display area; A second substrate bonded to the first substrate and having a front surface facing the first substrate and having a conductive layer formed on the rear surface thereof; A common wiring formed in the dummy region; It is formed of a silver dot formed on the common wiring to electrically connect the conductive layer and the common wiring on the back surface of the second substrate to remove the static electricity of the conductive layer.
In the present invention, since the silver dot is formed on the common wiring of the dummy region, the static electricity of the conductive layer for removing static electricity is removed by electrically connecting the conductive layer and the common wiring on the back surface of the second substrate by the silver dot. Since there is no need to form a ground in the area, the area of the dummy area can be reduced, and as a result, the bezel can be minimized.

4B is an enlarged view of a portion B of FIG. 4A and is a plan view showing the arrangement of wirings.
As shown in FIG. 4B, in the dummy area D, the
In the drawing, the
In the drawing, only the
As shown in the figure, the
Therefore, when static electricity is generated by the touch of a human hand on the surface of the liquid crystal display, in particular, when the touch panel is provided by an operator's touch for data input, the generated static electricity is a silver dot in the conductive layer for removing static electricity. It flows to the 160 and the
Although not shown in the drawing, the
Meanwhile, since the size of the
In the conventional liquid crystal display device, the silver dot contacts the ground to remove static electricity, whereas in the present invention, the silver dot directly contacts the common wiring to remove the static electricity. Therefore, in the present invention, since the ground is not necessary, the ground can be removed from the dummy region D, and as a result, the width of the dummy region D can be reduced.
즉, 도 3a에 도시된 종래 액정표시소자와 도 4에 도시된 본 발명의 액정표시소자의 더미영역(D)을 비교하면, 종래에는 그라운드, GIP회로, 제어신호배선 및 공통배선이 배치되어 더미영역의 폭이 d1인 반면에, 본 발명에서는 공통배선(151), GIP회로(152), 제어신호배선(153)만이 더미영역(D)에 배치되므로 더미영역(D)의 폭이 d2가 되며, 종래의 그라운드의 폭만큼 더미영역의 폭이 감소할 수 있게 된다(즉, d1>d2).That is, when the dummy area D of the conventional liquid crystal display device shown in FIG. 3A and the liquid crystal display device of the present invention shown in FIG. 4 are compared, conventionally, the ground, the GIP circuit, the control signal wiring, and the common wiring are arranged. While the width of the region is d1, in the present invention, only the
Hereinafter, with reference to the accompanying drawings will be described an embodiment according to the present invention in more detail.
FIG. 6 is a cross-sectional view illustrating a structure of a liquid crystal display device according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention. In the drawing, the display area A / A, one pixel, and the dummy area D are illustrated.
As shown in FIG. 6, a
The pixel thin film transistor includes a
In addition, the thin film transistor for a shift register includes a

The common wiring is formed through the first
Although not shown in the drawing, the first
On the
In addition, the
As the
The protective layer 144 may be formed of an organic material such as photoacrylic or an inorganic material such as SiOx or SiNx. In addition, the protective layer 144 may be formed of a double layer of an inorganic protective layer and an organic protective layer.
The
The
The
A transparent conductive layer for removing
Although the
In the liquid crystal display device configured as described above, when a user touches the screen of the liquid crystal display device such as an input by a touch, static electricity is generated on the liquid crystal display device, and the static electricity is formed on the rear surface of the
In addition, the second
As described above, in the present invention, the silver dot is electrically connected to the ground of the dummy region D, and the static electricity collected in the electrostatic removal conductive layer formed on the back surface of the
7 is a diagram illustrating a liquid crystal display device according to another exemplary embodiment of the present invention.
Since the structure of the liquid crystal display device having the structure shown in FIG. 7 and the liquid crystal display device having the structure shown in FIG. 6 is substantially the same except for the connection structure between the
As shown in FIG. 7, in the liquid crystal display according to another exemplary embodiment, a thin film transistor is formed on the
The
In other words, in the liquid crystal display device of this embodiment, when the
In the liquid crystal display device shown in FIG. 6, the silver dot is formed on a part of the side and the upper surface of the second substrate to electrically connect the conductive layer for removing static electricity and the common wiring, whereas the size of the silver dot is large. In the liquid crystal display device, the silver dot is disposed below the front surface of the
As described above, in the present invention, silver dots are formed on the common wiring of the dummy region, and the silver dots are electrically connected to the conductive layer for removing static electricity on the back surface of the second substrate and the common wiring to prevent static electricity of the conductive layer for removing static electricity. Since it is not necessary to form the ground in the dummy area, the area of the dummy area can be reduced, thereby minimizing the bezel.
On the other hand, in the above detailed description, a liquid crystal display device having a specific structure is described, but this is for convenience of description and the present invention is not limited to the liquid crystal display device having such a specific structure.
For example, in the above description, specific wirings formed in the dummy region may be formed, but the type, width, and number of the wirings may vary depending on the size, driving mode, and the like of the liquid crystal display.
The present invention may be applied to the liquid crystal display device of any structure as long as the silver dot is formed with the common wiring of the dummy region so as to remove the static electricity of the conductive layer for removing static electricity.
