Description
BACKGROUND OF THE
Along with the increase in the number of people wearing contact lenses, efforts have been actively made to develop a variety of products that can generate continuous demand. In addition to the unique mission of contact lenses called vision correction, the development of color contact lenses, which can achieve cosmetic effects, combines the aesthetic pursuit desire of women and product development achievements, making beauty color contact lenses an important product line in the contact lens field.
In particular, as the world is becoming globalized, the exchange of different races and cultures increases, and the demand for beauty color contact lenses that can change the color of the eyes at will is further increasing.
There are two main types of cosmetic contact lenses. Firstly, there are transparent colored lenses. Transparent colored lenses were developed to emphasize transparency rather than to change the original iris color, or to block rays of light. Therefore, the transparent colored lens has limitations in changing the pupil to a desired color, and is used for identification purposes or ultraviolet ray shielding rather than beauty use. The second is an opaque coloring lens that can change the original iris color to another color.
In order to manufacture a contact lens, a polymer material for lens molding is usually injected into an arm mold, the male mold is bonded to the arm mold, and then the lens mold is cured for a predetermined time. Then, a molded contact lens can be obtained by separating the male mold and the arm mold.
In the case of a color contact lens, a color pattern is printed on the core of the male mold coupled with the female mold, so that the color pattern is transferred to the surface of the lens during the molding process. Therefore, in order to manufacture a color contact lens, a mold having a color pattern printed on the surface of a core having a curved shape must be provided.
A pad printing method is typically used to produce molds with certain types of color patterns printed on them. The pad printing method designs a color pattern, prints the image on a film by color, and then etches the copper plate using the printed film. Then, a color pattern is formed by using the etched copper plate, then attached to the silicon pad, and the silicon pattern is finally printed on the mold by printing on the mold.
A printing method using a pad printing method is disclosed in Korean Patent No. 10-0910298, and a color contact lens manufactured by the method.

The above patent discloses a method of manufacturing a corrugated board, comprising the steps of: Printing a composition for forming a colored part on a corrosion plate on which the design is formed; Attaching the printed color forming composition to a silicon pad; Printing a silicone pad onto the mold to transfer the design composed of the composition for forming a colored part to the mold; Irradiating UV for 8 to 25 minutes until the polymerization rate of the composition for forming a colored part becomes 60 to 80%, and polymerizing the composition to form a colored part; And forming a lens by applying a polymer for forming a lens on the upper portion of the colored portion.
As described above, the conventional method of printing by pad printing is very complicated in producing a mold. In addition, the time, cost, and manpower required for the mold production are consumed to increase the production cost.

Hereinafter, a color pattern printing method of a mold for a color contact lens according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention and a mold for a color contact lens using the same will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
A color pattern printing method of a mold for a color contact lens according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a mounting step of mounting a mold having a convex curved core on a table, a dividing step of dividing the core surface into a plurality of printing target areas And a printing step of jetting ink onto the areas to be printed through the inkjet head to print a color pattern on the surface of the core.
First, a mold for manufacturing a color contact lens is mounted on a table in a mounting step.
The
The
Next, the surface of the
Since the
Figs. 2 and 3 show the states of the
The
The remaining core surfaces except for the
The
The upper and lower widths of the respective printing target areas may be the same or may be different from each other.
As described above, the present invention prints the color pattern on the surface of the core by dividing the surface of the core into virtual print target areas and injecting ink onto the print target areas.
Printing is performed through a computer and a printer. A color pattern image created by a user is divided into a plurality of partial images by a computer program and sent to the printer in a bitmap format. The bitmap sent from the computer is interpreted by the printer's logic board and sent to the inkjet head through the cable on the logic board. The ink jet head forms a color pattern by jetting ink onto the areas to be printed so as to express the created bit map on the surface of the core.
As shown in FIG. 4, the
The
The
The cartridge may be coupled to the inkjet head or may be connected to the inkjet head through a separate ink supply tube.
The ink utilizes a material which is non-toxic to the human body and excellent in biocompatibility. For example, a composition in which a pigment is added to a polymer solution may be used. For example, polyvinylalcohol which is not toxic to a polymer solution and dissolved in water can be used. The pigments can use known pigments depending on the color of the ink. Organic or inorganic pigments harmless to the human body can be used as the pigment. For example, Iron (III) oxide, Titanium (IV) oxide, Remazol Brilliant Blue R, Reactive Black 5, Quinoline Yellow and Solvent Green 3 can be used.
In the present invention, printing is performed for each of the areas to be printed (17, 18, 19). That is, the
Alternatively, the second
As described above, the present invention first prints one of the print target areas and then prints the remaining print target areas separately. The ink jet head moves in the left-right direction when printing each printing object area, and the table can be moved in the front-rear direction. Further, the table is fixed and the ink jet head can be moved in the left and right, front and back, and up and down directions.
The color pattern to be printed on the surface of the core is printed separately for each print target area. That is, the color pattern is divided into a plurality of partial images along the boundaries of the areas to be printed, and each divided partial image is printed on the corresponding printing area.
Since the surface of the core is curved, the top and bottom spaces of the
For example, the present invention can move the ink jet head up and down with the height of the mold fixed. It is possible to move the ink jet head up and down in accordance with the height of the printing object areas to maintain the same interval between the inkjet head and the printing object areas.
