Recently, asphalt contaminated with radioactive cesium was found on domestic roads and became a social problem. Because this radioactive asphalt can cause radioactive exposure to local residents, it is necessary to develop a technique to remove cesium from radioactive asphalt. Unlike uranium, cesium contaminated with asphalt is difficult to separate and remove from the soil due to its large adsorption equilibrium coefficient. Therefore, a method of efficiently decontaminating cesium from asphalt is required. However, until now there has been no attempt to remove radioactive materials from asphalt, and the related technology is not known.

EXAMPLES Hereinafter, the present invention will be specifically described by way of examples. It is to be understood that the invention is not limited to the disclosed embodiments, and that various modifications may be made by those skilled in the art without departing from the scope of the present invention.
Cesium and cobalt equilibrium adsorption coefficient measurement>
The equilibrium adsorption experiment was carried out by artificially polluting the non - contaminated soil collected at the nuclear facility with various concentrations of cesium. The equilibrium adsorption Freundlich (k) coefficients were 7.35 for cesium and 0.85 for cobalt (see Fig. 1 and Fig. 2). So the adsorption rate of cesium was 8.6 times larger than that of cobalt. Therefore, the removal efficiency of cesium-contaminated soil is expected to be lower than that of cobalt-contaminated soil in the case of soil detergent, and the removal efficiency of uranium and cobalt with equilibrium adsorption coefficient is high in + It is predicted that the removal efficiency of cesium with high equilibrium adsorption coefficient will be low in a short time.
Toluene washing of asphalt mixture >
Toluene was injected at a rate of 1 ml per gram of the asphalt mixture in the washing tank of the complex washing apparatus. Then, asphalt mixture having an initial contamination concentration of 8.14 Bq / g was added and mixed. After washing for 0.5 hour, the soil was stagnated for 2 hours, The upper portion of the toluene waste solution was removed. Then, toluene was injected again into the washing tank at a rate of 1 ml per 1 g of the asphalt mixture. After washing for 0.5 hour, the toluene waste solution and the washed gravel soil were separated by solid-liquid separation with a 0.2 mm sieve. At this time, the weight of the separated gravel soil was about 83.5% of the weight of the contaminated asphalt mixture.
After washing with toluene, the residual cesium concentration of the separated gravel soil was measured to be 0.98 Bq / g, and about 88% of cesium in contaminated asphalt was removed.
Nitric Acid Cleaning>
1.5 M nitric acid was injected into the washing tank at a rate of 2 ml per 1 g of the gravel soil, and the contaminated gravel soil was introduced, mixed and washed for 3 hours. After 1 hour settling, the washing solution located on the gravel soil is discharged. In the same manner, 1.5 M nitric acid was injected into the washing tank at a rate of 2 ml per 1 g of the gravel soil, and the contaminated gravel soil was mixed and washed for 3 hours, and then the washing mixture was subjected to solid-liquid separation using a 0.2 mm sieve.
Experimental results showed that cesium was removed from about 82.7% gravel soil at an initial concentration of 0.98 Bq / g to 0.17 Bq / g.
Toluene Cleaning Waste Treatment>
The toluene flushing wastewater generated in the washing of the asphalt mixture was treated with a settling tank, a condensing tank and a filter press of the complex washing apparatus. The sludge after drying was dried to reduce the volume and disposed of as radioactive waste. After reuse, toluene was evaporated in the drier and the remaining asphalt was disposed of itself. At this time, the toluene washing waste solution was added to the settling tank, and CaO and sodium tetraphenylborate (NaTPB) were added to precipitate cesium. NaTPB was added slightly more than the total amount of cesium in the waste solution, and CaO was injected until the pH of the sedimentation waste solution reached 11 or more.
After 3 hours of precipitation, cesium was removed from about 99.7% toluene solution at initial concentration of 3.2 Bq / ml at 0.01 Bq / ml.
Treatment with nitric acid washing waste solution>
The nitric acid washing waste solution generated in the washing of the asphalt mixture is treated with a settling tank, a condenser, and a filter press, the sludge is dried to reduce the volume and disposed of as radioactive waste, and the treated filtrate is reused.
Cesium was removed from the 99.2% nitric acid solution at an initial concentration of 0.19 Bq / g to 0.0015 Bq / ml for 3 hours.
