Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a lithium phosphate supported catalyst having improved activity, and a process for producing methylethylketone and 1,3-butadiene from 2,3-butanediol using the same, and more particularly, to a process for producing lithium- A method in which methyl ethyl ketone and 1,3-butadiene are produced in a high yield from 2,3-butanediol using the modified lithium phosphate supported catalyst obtained by reacting a compound of the formula .
2,3-butanediol is an example of a compound that can be produced from biomass, which is a clean resource. In 1906, Harden and Walpole reported that 2, 3, and 4-butanediol were produced by fermentation of xylose and glucose, Since 3-butanediol has been produced, researches have been actively conducted to produce it using biotechnology. In particular, since 2,3-butanediol is used as a precursor of various compounds such as synthetic rubbers, plasticizers, antifreeze agents and fuel additives, the production of 2,3-butanediol by the bioprocess is expected to continue to increase. There is also a growing demand for technologies that can be used with value.
1,3-butadiene is a key material used in the manufacture of industrial materials such as tires, fuel lines and other parts for automobile parts, shoes, and electronic products. / Year, 22 trillion won / year. Commercial production of 1,3-butadiene is accomplished through the extraction and purification process of the by-product of the ethylene production process, which is produced through steam cracking. The dehydrogenation reaction of some n-butane or n-butene . Since 1,3-butadiene is obtained as a by-product of ethylene production, 1,3-butadiene production is interlocked with ethylene production, making it difficult to control the production of butadiene according to market conditions.
On the other hand, methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) is a representative solvent used in a large amount in various process fields. Particularly, MEK is used not only as a solvent for nitrocellulose, vinyl resin and cellulose acetate but also in many industrial fields such as polyurethane, paint, magnetic tape, ink, synthetic leather, adhesive and coating agent .
A conventional commercial process for producing the MEK is a process in which 2-butanol obtained through hydration of 1-butene or 2-butene, which is a C4 fraction of naphtha, MEK is produced by dehydrogenation using zinc (Zn), copper (Cu) or tin (Sn) catalyst at a high temperature of ~ 500 ° C. and a high pressure of about 4 bar.
However, as oil prices continue to rise globally and demand for C4 oil increases due to the production of olefins and the decomposition of ethylene, the supply and demand of raw materials is causing inconvenience and price instability is continuing.
2,3-butanediol can be converted to methyl ethyl ketone and 1,3-butadiene through dehydration, and a dehydration catalyst is required for this reaction. Homogeneous inorganic acids such as hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid and nitric acid are known to exhibit high activity in the dehydration reaction of 2,3-butanediol, but the reactor is corrosive, difficult to handle, and time consuming and costly to separate them from the product.
On the other hand, U.S. Patent No. 245,798 discloses a process of using a lithium phosphate-based catalyst in dehydrating a vicinal diol into a diene. However, regarding the modification of the lithium phosphate-based supported catalyst, It is not.
Therefore, in order to efficiently produce methyl ethyl ketone and 1,3-butadiene from 2,3-butanediol, separation of the product easily and development of a catalyst having high activity is continuously required.
Hereinafter, a method for preparing methyl ethyl ketone and 1,3-butadiene from 2,3-butanediol using the modified lithium phosphate supported catalyst of the present invention, a process for producing the catalyst, and the catalyst will be described in detail.
Supported catalyst
The modified lithium phosphate supported catalyst of the present invention is prepared by reacting a lithium phosphate and a silane compound impregnated in a catalyst support.
The catalyst support may be at least one selected from the group consisting of silica, alumina, gamma-alumina, zirconia, titania and silica-alumina. Preferably, silica is used.
The silane-based compound is reacted with the lithium phosphate-supported catalyst to change its acidic condition, and the basic point of the lithium phosphate is replaced with a partial acid point so that the acid point and the base point are present in a complex state.
As the silane compound, a compound represented by the following formula (1) may be used.
1][Chemical Formula 1]
R1 xSiCl4 -x R 1 x SiCl 4 -x
R 1 represents an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, an alkoxy group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, a haloalkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, or an aryl group having 6 to 10 carbon atoms, x is an integer satisfying 0 <x <4 .
More preferably, the silane compound is selected from the group consisting of trimethylchlorosilane, dimethyldichlorosilane, diethyldichlorosilane, diphenyldichlorosilane, methylphenyldichlorosilane, methyltrichlorosilane, ethyltrichlorosilane, phenyltrichlorosilane and silicon tetrachloride One or more compounds may be used, most preferably trimethylchlorosilane.
For example, in the case where silica is used as the catalyst support and trimethylchlorosilane is used as the silane compound, the free silanol moiety ≡Si-OH present on the surface of the silica reacts with trimethylchlorosilane, Likewise, since HCl is produced, lithium phosphate can be reformed into a more acidic catalyst.
(CH 3 ) 3 -Si-O-Si≡ produced in the above formula (2) has the effect of improving the catalyst stability by modifying the silica surface.
As a result, the acid sites of the lithium phosphate catalyst are increased by the produced HCl, as shown in the following formula (3), so that the acid sites and the base sites are present in complex form. Thus, methyl ethyl ketone and 1,3 -Butadiene, the yield of methyl ethyl ketone and 1,3-butadiene and the selectivity of 1,3-butadiene are increased.
As described above, the increase of the acid sites of the lithium phosphate catalyst can be confirmed by comparing the peaks of the ammonia adsorption spectrum and the adsorption spectrum of the carbon dioxide adsorption. That is, since the lithium phosphate catalyst having no base treatment has a high base point, the peak of the carbon dioxide heating adsorption spectrum is formed to be higher than the peak of the ammonia heating adsorption spectrum. However, when reacting with the silane compound as in the present invention, The peak of the desorption spectrum is formed higher than the peak of the carbon dioxide temperature increase desorption spectrum.
The silane compound is preferably used in an amount of 5 to 20 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the lithium phosphate-supported catalyst impregnated in the catalyst support. When the silane compound is used in an amount of less than 5 parts by weight, there is a problem that the concentration of the silane compound acting as a modifying substance is insufficient. When the silane compound is used in an amount exceeding 20 parts by weight, the concentration of the silane compound becomes excessively high, There is a problem to lose.
The modified lithium phosphate supported catalyst may be used for producing methyl ethyl ketone and 1,3-butadiene from 2,3-butanediol.

Preparation method of methyl ethyl ketone and 1,3-butadiene
The process for producing methyl ethyl ketone and 1,3-butadiene from 2,3-butanediol using the catalyst of the present invention is not particularly limited,
Vaporizing 2,3-butanediol to obtain a vapor phase; and
And reacting the vaporized product with the modified lithium phosphate supported catalyst prepared above.
At this time, an inert gas may be mixed with the 2,3-butanediol vapor to form a mixture, and then the mixture may be reacted with the modified lithium phosphate supported catalyst.
Brief Description of the Drawings Figure 1 shows a schematic diagram of a continuous gas phase reaction for the production of methyl ethyl ketone and 1,3-butadiene from 2,3-butanediol.
As shown in FIG. 1, 2,3-butanediol can be converted to methyl ethyl ketone and 1,3-butadiene through a continuous gas phase reaction. Specifically, a solution of 2,3-butanediol is injected into the evaporation zone at a constant rate through a pump. The evaporation zone is preferably maintained at 200-250 ° C to allow 2,3-butanediol to be completely vaporized.
The mixed gas in which the 2,3-butanediol vaporized in the evaporation zone or the inert gas such as nitrogen, helium or argon gas is mixed with the 2,3-butanediol vapor is a stainless steel reactor or a quartz ) Is supplied from the upper part of the reactor to the lower part, and the reaction is performed while passing through the catalyst layer containing the modified lithium phosphate supporting catalyst of the present invention.
At this time, it is preferable that the modified lithium phosphate supported catalyst is activated at a high temperature under a nitrogen condition, more preferably 300 to 600 ° C.
On the other hand, it is preferable that the reaction temperature of 2,3-butanediol passing through the catalyst layer is in the range of 300 to 500 ° C. If the reaction temperature is less than 300 ° C., there is a disadvantage in that the activity is low. There is a problem that economical efficiency is low due to a large consumption amount. The reaction pressure may be atmospheric pressure (about 1 atm), but is not particularly limited.
In the method for producing methyl ethyl ketone and 1,3-butadiene from 2,3-butanediol, the amount of the catalyst to be used, the feed rate of the reactant, the concentration of the reactant and the feed rate of the inert gas are not particularly limited, Can be adjusted appropriately.
As described above, when methyl ethyl ketone and 1,3-butadiene are produced from 2,3-butanediol using the modified lithium phosphate supported catalyst of the present invention, the total yield of methyl ethyl ketone and 1,3-butadiene is 70% . Also, the selectivity of 1,3-butadiene may be more than 50%.
Hereinafter, a method for preparing the modified lithium phosphate supported catalyst of the present invention and a method for producing methyl ethyl ketone and 1,3-butadiene from 2,3-butanediol using the same according to the present invention will be described.
Using the modified lithium phosphate supported catalyst obtained in Example 1, the reaction for producing methyl ethyl ketone and 1,3-butadiene from 2,3-butanediol was carried out as in the process of FIG. 1, Table 1 shows the results.
On the other hand, the modified lithium phosphate supported catalyst was activated by heat treatment at 400 ° C under a nitrogen (N 2 ) condition before use in the catalytic reaction.

The reaction was carried out in the same manner as in Example 2 except that the lithium phosphate supported catalyst of Comparative Example 1 was used.
비교예Comparative Example 4 4
The reaction was carried out in the same manner as in Example 2 except that the modified lithium phosphate supported catalyst of Comparative Example 2 was used.
2 and 3 are graphs showing the yields and selectivities of 1,3-butadiene in the reaction of Example 2 and Comparative Examples 3 to 4, respectively, according to the reaction time, and Table 2 summarizes the graphs . In the following Table 2, the yield and the selectivity of 1,3-butadiene were selected as the maximum values in the graphs of FIGS. 2 and 3.
As shown in FIG. 2, in Example 2, methyl ethyl ketone and 1,3-butadiene were produced at a higher yield than Comparative Example 3 using a catalyst that was not separately treated and Comparative Example 4 using a catalyst subjected to HMDS treatment . In particular, in the case of Comparative Example 3, it was confirmed that the deactivation of the catalyst proceeded after about 10 hours, and the stability of the catalyst was improved by the treatment of the silane compound of the Example.
FIG. 4 shows photographs of the catalysts after the reaction of Example 2 and Comparative Example 3. The catalysts of the Examples were found to inhibit coking as compared with the catalysts of Comparative Examples. This also confirmed that the stability of the catalysts was improved do.
Meanwhile, as shown in FIG. 3, in the case of Example 2, the acid / base balance becomes more suitable for the reaction of producing the butadiene due to the substitution of the lithium atom by the hydrogen atom due to the influence of the HCl generated in the catalyst, As shown in Fig. This can be more clearly understood through comparison between Example 2 and Comparative Example 4. (CH 3 ) -Si-functional group was formed on the surface of the catalyst through the post-treatment process in all of the catalysts used in Example 2 and Comparative Example 4, but the catalyst of Example 1 was not affected by the influence of HCl generated during the post- While the catalyst of Comparative Example 2 is in a basic condition due to the influence of NH 3 produced during the post-treatment. Therefore, in the catalyst of Comparative Example 2, lithium atom substitution did not occur and the acid / base balance was inadequate for the butadiene formation reaction, resulting in a relatively low selectivity for butadiene.
To ascertain the distribution of the acid sites and the base sites of the catalysts used, a temperature desorption spectrum was obtained by temperature programmed desorption (TPD) of ammonia and carbon dioxide using AutoChem II (Micromeritics) using an elevated temperature desorption spectrum analyzer Temperature raising rate: 5 占 폚 / min).
The temperature-increasing desorption spectra of the supported catalysts of Example 1 and Comparative Example 1 are shown in Figs. 5 and 6, respectively.
As can be seen from FIGS. 5 and 6, the spectrum of Example 1 shows that the peak of ammonia is larger and the peak of carbon dioxide is smaller than that of Comparative Example 1. That is, it can be confirmed that the acid point of the lithium phosphate catalyst is increased by the TMCS treatment in Example 1, and the base point is decreased.
