The present invention relates to a sintered flux for submerged arc welding that can be applied to high speed welding and high heat input welding.

The present inventors have studied to derive the sintered flux for submerged arc welding that can secure excellent fork mark resistance during high-speed welding, and can secure arc stability and good bead appearance in high heat input welding. Recognizing that the above effects can be obtained by appropriately controlling the content of the components, the present invention has been achieved.
Hereinafter, the sintered flux for submerged arc welding which is one side of this invention is demonstrated in detail.
The TiO 2 is a component added to improve slag peelability and arc stability and to obtain a good bead appearance. When the TiO 2 content is less than 25 wt%, slag peelability is lowered and a fork mark is generated in high speed welding. It is easy, and slag fluidity is reduced, so that it is difficult to obtain a good bead appearance. On the other hand, when the TiO 2 exceeds 50% by weight, the slag peelability is improved, but the viscosity of the slag is too high, resulting in poor bead appearance, and there is a problem in that the flux consumption is increased. Therefore, in the present invention, it is preferable to control the content of TiO 2 to 25 to 50% by weight. Furthermore, when the content of TiO 2 is 35 to 50% by weight, the fork mark resistance may be further improved during high-speed welding, which is more preferable.
The SiO 2 is an acidic oxide that controls the flowability of the slag and affects the shape of the weld bead, and affects the basicity of the slag according to its content. When the content of SiO 2 is less than 5% by weight, the bead width becomes unstable or uneven due to insufficient slag flowability and concave bead shape. On the other hand, when the content of SiO 2 exceeds 25% by weight, the fluidity of the slag is excessively increased to make the bead width unstable and the slag debris is generated on the surface of the bead, and the flux basicity is poor. Impact strength drop problem may occur due to the increase in the amount of oxygen in the metal. Therefore, in the present invention, it is preferable to control the content of SiO 2 to 5 to 25% by weight.
The Al 2 O 3 is a necessary component to increase the softening temperature of the slag, to improve the appearance of the beads and to improve welding workability by adjusting the viscosity and solidification temperature of the slag. When the content of Al 2 O 3 is less than 15% by weight, the effect of synergy of the slag viscosity and the solidification temperature is not sufficient, resulting in a bad bead appearance such as undercut. On the other hand, in the flux in which the content of TiO2 is 25% by weight or more as in the present invention, when the content of Al 2 O 3 exceeds 30% by weight, the viscosity and solidification temperature of the slag becomes so high that the slag fluidity worsens. It causes poor appearance and mixing of slag. Therefore, in the present invention, it is preferable to control the content of Al 2 O 3 to 15 to 30% by weight.
The MgO has the effect of reducing the amount of oxygen in the weld metal to improve the toughness of the weld metal, and is useful for securing slag peelability, but is an easily absorbed component. If the MgO content is less than 2% by weight, the effect is not sufficient. On the other hand, when the content of MgO exceeds 6% by weight, the viscosity of the slag is too high or the melting point is too high, which results in poor slag fluidity in the high heat input welding, resulting in poor bead appearance and easy incorporation of slag. In addition, there is a problem that the flux is easily absorbed. Therefore, in the present invention, it is preferable to control the content of MgO to 2 to 6% by weight.
The CaO adjusts the viscosity and solidification temperature of the slag, and has the effect of improving the impact strength of the weld metal, but is a component that is easily absorbed since it is added in the form of a carbonate compound having poor hygroscopicity. If the content of CaO is less than 5% by weight, the effect of the above-described addition is inadequate. On the other hand, when the content of CaO exceeds 15% by weight, the flux may not only be sensitive to moisture absorption, but may cause fork mark generation at high speed welding. Therefore, in the present invention, it is preferable to control the content of CaO to 5 to 15% by weight.
The Fe-Si is a component added to transfer Si to the weld metal and to increase the fork mark resistance. When the content of Fe-Si is less than 2% by weight, the effect is inadequate and a fork mark is easily generated during high speed welding. On the other hand, when the content of Fe-Si exceeds 7% by weight, the welding workability is good, but the low-temperature impact toughness decreases due to the increase of impurities in the weld metal, and the elongation may decrease due to excessive Si transition. Therefore, in the present invention, it is preferable to control the content of Fe-Si to 2 to 7% by weight.
Na 3 AlF 6 controls flux basicity, secures low-temperature impact toughness, reduces weld arc anxiety, and reduces weld surface protrusions and surface wrinkles. When the content of Na 3 AlF 6 is less than 2% by weight, the above-described effects are inadequate. On the other hand, when the content of Na 3 AlF 6 exceeds 8% by weight may increase the diffusible hydrogen may cause cold cracking. Therefore, in the present invention, it is preferable to control the content of Na 3 AlF 6 to 2 to 8% by weight.
In addition to the above components, it does not significantly affect the flux properties of the present invention, but may further include binders used to make the flux into particles of a suitable size, and other unavoidable impurities are included.
As the binder it is preferable to use, such as Na 2 O, K 2 O.
(TiO2+SiO2)/Al2O3 : 1.5~3.5(TiO 2 + SiO 2 ) / Al 2 O 3 : 1.5 ~ 3.5
Flux, which is one aspect of the present invention, satisfies the above-described component system and controls the (TiO 2 + SiO 2 ) / Al 2 O 3 ratio. Al 2 O 3 , SiO 2 and TiO 2 are all components that improve the shape of the weld bead and improve slag peelability. When Al 2 O 3 exceeds a certain component in the flux with high content of TiO 2 , slag fluidity is lowered and a fork mark occurs at high speed welding. In this case, the content of TiO 2 is Al 2 O 3 content. The higher the fork mark is reduced. In addition, when the content of TiO 2 and SiO 2 is excessive, the slag fluidity is excessively increased to cause molten metal to flow down and the female height becomes uneven. To compensate for this, the content of Al 2 O 3 is increased to TiO 2. It is desirable to control the (TiO 2 + SiO 2 ) / Al 2 O 3 ratio by adjusting with the SiO 2 content.
Accordingly, the present invention is preferably in controlling the ratio of (TiO 2 + SiO 2) / Al 2 O 3 1.5 to 3.5. The reason is that when the ratio of (TiO 2 + SiO 2 ) / Al 2 O 3 is less than 1.5, the slag fluidity is decreased in high-speed welding, the bead width is narrowed, the fork mark is generated, and the bead width is insufficient in the high heat welding. This unevenness arises. On the other hand, when the ratio of (TiO 2 + SiO 2 ) / Al 2 O 3 exceeds 3.5, the slag fluidity is excessively increased, resulting in an uneven bead width, and undercut welding in underheated welding. Occurs and unevenness of the upper surface of the slag occurs, and the slag peelability is lowered as a whole.

As shown in Table 4 and Table 5, Inventive Examples 1 to 7 satisfying the range controlled by the present invention and the component system of the flux and the ratio of (TiO 2 + SiO 2 ) / Al 2 O 3 are internal forks in high-speed welding. Both the mark and the bead appearance and welding workability of the high heat welding were good. In particular, the invention examples 1, 3, 4, 6, 7 having a TiO 2 content of more than 35% by weight showed more excellent fork mark resistance.
On the other hand, the flux component satisfies the range controlled by the present invention, but in Comparative Examples 1 to 11, where the ratio of (TiO 2 + SiO 2 ) / Al 2 O 3 is outside the range controlled by the present invention, good results were not obtained. Among them, Comparative Examples 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11, in which the ratio of (TiO 2 + SiO 2 ) / Al 2 O 3 exceeded 3.5, the width and thickness of the slag were uneven, and the slag peelability was not good. . In addition, Comparative Examples 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6, in which the ratio of (TiO 2 + SiO 2 ) / Al 2 O 3 was less than 1.5, showed uneven bead appearance in high heat welding, and fork marks occurred in high speed welding. It was.
