Description
본 발명은 전극 사이의 전기적인 접속에 사용할 수 있는 도전성 입자, 및 상기 도전성 입자의 제조 방법에 관한 것이다. 또한, 본 발명은 상기 도전성 입자를 이용한 이방성 도전 재료 및 접속 구조체에 관한 것이다.This invention relates to the electroconductive particle which can be used for the electrical connection between electrodes, and the manufacturing method of the said electroconductive particle. Moreover, this invention relates to the anisotropic conductive material and bonded structure which used the said electroconductive particle.
이방성 도전 재료로서, 이방성 도전 페이스트, 이방성 도전 잉크, 이방성 도전 점접착제, 이방성 도전 필름 및 이방성 도전 시트 등이 널리 알려져 있다. 이들 이방성 도전 재료에서는, 페이스트, 잉크 또는 수지 중에 도전성 입자가 분산되어 있다.As anisotropic conductive materials, anisotropic conductive pastes, anisotropic conductive inks, anisotropic conductive adhesives, anisotropic conductive films, anisotropic conductive sheets and the like are widely known. In these anisotropic conductive materials, electroconductive particle is disperse | distributed in paste, ink, or resin.
액정 표시(LCD) 소자 또는 유기 전계 발광(EL) 소자 등의 전자 기기에서는, 구동 전극인 투명 전극을 전기적으로 접속하기 위해서 상기 이방성 도전 재료가 이용되고 있다.In electronic devices, such as a liquid crystal display (LCD) element or an organic electroluminescent (EL) element, the said anisotropic conductive material is used in order to electrically connect the transparent electrode which is a drive electrode.
상기 이방성 도전 재료의 일례로서, 하기의 특허문헌 1에는 도전성 입자와, 절연성 접착제를 포함하는 이방성 도전 접착 필름이 개시되어 있다. 이 이방성 도전 접착 필름 중의 유리 이온 농도는 60 ppm 이하이다. 특허문헌 1의 실시예에서는, 유리 이온으로서 염소 이온 농도가 측정되어 있다.As an example of the said anisotropic conductive material, the following anisotropic conductive adhesive film containing electroconductive particle and an insulating adhesive agent is disclosed by following patent document 1. The free ion concentration in this anisotropic conductive adhesive film is 60 ppm or less. In the Example of patent document 1, the chlorine ion concentration is measured as free ion.
특허문헌 1에서는, 상기 유리 이온 농도, 특히 염소 이온 농도가 60 ppm 이하이기 때문에, 상기 이방성 도전 접착 필름을 이용하여 전극 사이를 전기적으로 접속한 경우에, 전극의 부식을 억제할 수 있다는 것이 기재되어 있다. In patent document 1, since the said glass ion concentration, especially chlorine ion concentration is 60 ppm or less, it is described that corrosion of an electrode can be suppressed when the electrode is electrically connected using the said anisotropic conductive adhesive film. have.
그러나, 특허문헌 1의 이방성 도전 접착 필름을 이용했다고 해도, 전극의 부식을 충분히 억제할 수 없는 경우가 있다. However, even if the anisotropic conductive adhesive film of Patent Document 1 is used, corrosion of the electrode may not be sufficiently suppressed.
그런데, LCD 소자 또는 유기 EL 소자 등의 투명 전극에서는, 전극의 가공성의 향상, 전극 형성 공정의 저온화, 및 전극의 형성 효율의 향상이 요구되고 있다. 이들 요구를 만족시키는 것을 목적으로 하여, ITO 전극 대신에 IZO 전극, AZO 전극, GZO 전극 및 ZnO 전극이 이용되고 있다.By the way, in transparent electrodes, such as an LCD element or an organic electroluminescent element, the improvement of the workability of an electrode, the low temperature of an electrode formation process, and the improvement of the formation efficiency of an electrode are calculated | required. For the purpose of satisfying these requirements, an IZO electrode, an AZO electrode, a GZO electrode, and a ZnO electrode are used instead of the ITO electrode.
그러나, IZO 전극, AZO 전극, GZO 전극 또는 ZnO 전극을 이용한 경우에는, ITO 전극을 이용한 경우와 비교하여, 전극의 부식이 생기기 쉽다는 문제가 있다. IZO 전극, AZO 전극, GZO 전극 또는 ZnO 전극을, 특허문헌 1에 기재된 이방성 도전 접착 필름에 의해 접속한 경우에는 전극의 부식이 쉽게 생기는 경우가 있다.However, when an IZO electrode, an AZO electrode, a GZO electrode, or a ZnO electrode is used, compared with the case where an ITO electrode is used, there exists a problem that corrosion of an electrode tends to occur easily. When connecting an IZO electrode, an AZO electrode, a GZO electrode, or a ZnO electrode with the anisotropic conductive adhesive film of patent document 1, corrosion of an electrode may arise easily.
본 발명의 목적은, 전극 사이를 전기적으로 접속한 경우에 전극의 부식을 억제할 수 있고, 전극 사이의 도전 신뢰성을 높일 수 있는 도전성 입자 및 상기 도전성 입자의 제조 방법, 및 상기 도전성 입자를 이용한 이방성 도전 재료 및 접속 구조체를 제공하는 것이다. (도전성 입자) (Conductive particles)
도 1에 본 발명의 일 실시 형태에 따른 도전성 입자를 단면도로 도시한다.The electroconductive particle concerning one Embodiment of this invention is shown in sectional drawing in FIG.
도 1에 도시된 바와 같이, 도전성 입자 (1)은 기재 입자 (2)와, 상기 기재 입자 (2)의 표면 (2a)를 피복하고 있는 도전층 (3)을 구비한다. 도전성 입자 (1)은 기재 입자 (2)의 표면 (2a)가 도전층 (3)에 의해 피복된 피복 입자이다. 따라서, 도전성 입자 (1)은 도전층 (3)을 외표면 (1a)에 갖는다.As shown in FIG. 1, the electroconductive particle 1 is equipped with the
본 실시 형태의 특징은, 1 g의 도전성 입자 (1)을 이온 교환수 10 mL에 가한 액을, 밀봉 하에서 121℃에서 24시간 가열했을 때에, 가열 후의 액에서의 수상 중의 유기산의 농도가 도전성 입자로 환산하여 300 μg/g 이하인 것에 있다. 즉, 가열 후의 액에서의 수상 중의 유기산의 농도는 도전성 입자 1 g당 300 μg 이하이다.The characteristic of this embodiment is that when the liquid which added 1 g of electroconductive particle 1 to 10 mL of ion-exchange water was heated at 121 degreeC under sealing for 24 hours, the density | concentration of the organic acid in the aqueous phase in the liquid after heating is electroconductive particle. It is in the thing of 300 micrograms / g or less in conversion. That is, the density | concentration of the organic acid in the water phase in the liquid after heating is 300 micrograms or less per 1g of electroconductive particles.
The present inventors found that the organic acid contained in the electroconductive particle 1 greatly influences corrosion of an electrode. Moreover, in order to fully suppress corrosion of an electrode, it discovered that it is very important that the density | concentration of the organic acid eluted by the said method is 300 micrograms / g or less. When the density | concentration of the said organic acid is 300 micrograms / g or less, when electrically connecting between electrodes by the electroconductive particle 1, or between an electrode by the anisotropic conductive material containing electroconductive particle 1 and binder resin. When electrically connected, corrosion of the electrode resulting from the electroconductive particle 1 can be suppressed remarkably.
또한, 최근 들어, 액정 표시(LCD) 소자 또는 유기 전계 발광(EL) 소자 등의 구동 전극인 투명 전극에서는, 전극의 가공성의 향상, 전극 형성 공정의 저온화, 및 전극의 형성 효율의 향상이 요구되고 있다. 이들 요구를 만족시키는 것을 목적으로 하여, ITO 전극 대신에, IZO 전극, AZO 전극, GZO 전극 또는 ZnO 전극이 이용되고 있다.In recent years, in transparent electrodes which are drive electrodes such as liquid crystal display (LCD) devices or organic electroluminescent (EL) devices, improvement of workability of the electrode, lowering of the electrode formation process, and improvement of the formation efficiency of the electrode are required. It is becoming. For the purpose of satisfying these requirements, an IZO electrode, an AZO electrode, a GZO electrode, or a ZnO electrode is used instead of the ITO electrode.
For example, when forming an IZO electrode, compared with the case where an ITO electrode is formed, generation | occurrence | production of a foreign material is less and a uniform electrode can be formed. Further, there is an advantage in that the etching rate at the time of forming the patterned electrode by etching is excellent and the etching accuracy is also excellent. Further, in the case of the IZO electrode, there is also an advantage that damage to aluminum auxiliary wiring such as a thin film transistor (TFT) substrate can be suppressed as compared with the case of the ITO electrode.
However, when an IZO electrode, an AZO electrode, a GZO electrode, or a ZnO electrode is used, there exists a problem that corrosion of an electrode tends to occur compared with the case where an ITO electrode is used. However, by the use of the electroconductive particle 1 of this embodiment, even if it is an IZO electrode, an AZO electrode, a GZO electrode, or a ZnO electrode, especially an IZO electrode, corrosion of an electrode can be suppressed remarkably.

A quartz tube having an opening is prepared and cleaned. 1 g of electroconductive particle (1) and 10 mL of ion-exchange water (specific resistance 18 M (ohm)) are put into this quartz tube. Next, the opening of the quartz tube is melted and sealed by heating means such as a gas burner to obtain a test body. The test body is placed in an oven at 121 ° C and heated at 121 ° C for 24 hours under sealing. After that, the quartz tube is opened. The liquid after heating in a quartz tube is filtered with a 0.1 micrometer membrane filter, and the water phase in the liquid after heating is taken out. The concentration of the organic acid in the filtered aqueous phase is measured using an ion chromatograph. As the ion chromatograph, commercially available "ICS-3000" manufactured by DIONEX Corporation can be used.

In the electroconductive particle 1 of this embodiment, the density | concentration of the sum total of formic acid, acetic acid, propionic acid, and citric acid eluted by the said method is 300 micrograms / g or less in conversion to electroconductive particle. Therefore, the density | concentration of the sum total of formic acid, acetic acid, propionic acid, and citric acid measured by the said measuring method is 300 micrograms / g or less in conversion of electroconductive particle. It is preferable that the density | concentration of the said organic acid is a density | concentration of the sum total of formic acid, acetic acid, a propionic acid, and a citric acid. Corrosion of an electrode can be remarkably suppressed because the density | concentration of the sum total of formic acid, acetic acid, propionic acid, and a citric acid is 300 micrograms / g or less in conversion of electroconductive particle.
