Description
Claims (42)
- 키 영역이 매트릭스 형태로 배치된 키패드에 있어서,상기 키 영역은,구동시 대응하는 문자 출력을 각각 제공하는 돌출된 키 영역(11)의 어레이와;상기 돌출된 키 영역들 사이에 산재되어 있으며, 인접한 상기 돌출된 키 영역 중 적어도 하나를 구동시키는 동작 알고리즘에 기초하여 문자 출력을 제공하는 키 영역(22)을 구비하며,상기 키패드는 상기 산재된 키 영역의 아래에 위치하며 상기 키 영역에 대응하여 독립적으로 구동 가능한 키 스위치(21)를 포함하며, 상기 동작 알고리즘은 상기 산재된 키 영역의 아래에 위치한 관련 스위치의 구동을 포함하고,상기 동작 알고리즘은 상기 산재된 키 영역(22)의 아래에 위치한 키 스위치(21)와, 상기 산재된 키 영역에 직접 인접해 있는 상기 돌출된 키 영역(11)의 아래에 위치한 소정의 키 스위치(21)를 포함하는 스위치의 조합된 구동에 대한 감지에 반응하여, 상기 산재된 키 영역에 대응하는 출력을 생성하는 것을 특징으로 하는 키패드.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 돌출된 키 영역(11)의 인접해 있는 키 영역은 그 중심간 거리가 성인 손가락의 폭의 절반 이하인 것을 특징으로 하는 키패드.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서,상기 각각의 돌출된 키 영역과 상기 각각의 산재된 키 영역의 아래에 위치하 는 대응 촉각 피드백 소자를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 키패드.
- 제3항에 있어서,상기 동작 알고리즘은, 상기 돌출된 키 영역(11)의 아래에 위치한 소정의 키 스위치(21)와 상기 산재된 키 영역(22)의 아래에 위치한 키 스위치를 포함하는 스위치의 조합된 구동에 대한 감지에 반응하여, 상기 산재된 키 영역(22)에 대응하는 출력을 생성하는 것을 특징으로 하는 키패드.
- 삭제
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 산재된 키 영역(22) 중 어느 하나의 키 영역의 아래에 위치하는 상기 키 스위치(21)는, 상기 산재된 키 영역(22) 중 다른 하나의 키 영역의 아래에 위치하는 키 스위치(21)와 상기 돌출된 키 영역(11)의 아래에 위치한 스위치(21)에 직접 접속되는 것을 특징으로 하는 키패드.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 산재된 키 영역(22)은 볼록한 형태의 노출 표면을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 키패드.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 산재된 키 영역(22)은 실질적으로 평평한 노출 표면을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 키패드.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 돌출된 키 영역(11)의 각각은 상단 면을 형성하는 돌출된 리지(142)를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 키패드.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 각각의 산재된 키 영역(22)은 복수개의 상기 돌출된 키 영역(11)에 직접 인접해 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 키패드.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 돌출된 키 영역(11)의 아래에 위치하는 키 스위치(22) 중 적어도 일부의 키 스위치를 각각 전기적으로 접속시키는 트레이스를 갖는 인쇄회로기판(23)을 구비하며,상기 돌출된 키 영역(11)은 상기 산재된 키 영역(22) 중 대응하는 키 영역의 아래에 위치하는 키 스위치(21)를 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 키패드.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 산재된 키 영역(22)의 각각의 바로 아래로 연장되는 4개의 전기적 트레이스 연장부(50)를 포함함으로써 스위치 접점을 형성하는 인쇄회로기판(23)을 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 키패드.
- 제12항에 있어서,상기 산재된 키 영역의 각각의 아래에 있는 상기 4개의 트레이스 연장부(50) 중 2개의 트레이스 연장부는 촉각 돔(12)에 접속되고, 다른 2개의 트레이스 연장부는 상기 산재된 키 영역(22)이 구동될 때 일시적으로 위치하여 전기적 접촉이 이루어지는 노출된 트레이스에 접속되는 것을 특징으로 하는 키패드.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 산재된 키 영역(22)의 아래에 위치한 상기 키 스위치(21)의 각각은 금속 스냅 돔(12)의 내면에 있는 불연속 부분(214)과 접촉하는 인쇄회로기판(23)의 전기적 트레이스에 의해 구동되는 것을 특징으로 하는 키패드.
- 제14항에 있어서,상기 스냅 돔 내면의 불연속 부분(214)에 의해 접촉되는 트레이스는 상기 스냅 돔의 바로 아래에 원형의 접촉 부위(230) 주위로 이격된 3개의 개별 접점(16)을 형성하는 것을 특징으로 하는 키패드.
- 제14항에 있어서,상기 불연속 부분(214)은 상기 스냅 돔(12)의 아래의 중앙 부분에 위치하고, 그 직경은 상기 스냅 돔의 전체 직경의 3분의 1 정도인 것을 특징으로 하는 키패드.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 산재된 키 영역(22)의 아래에 위치한 상기 키 스위치(21)는 각각 촉각 피드백 소자(12)와 카본 링을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 키패드.
- 제17항에 있어서,상기 촉각 피드백 소자는 전기적인 수동 소자인 것을 특징으로 하는 키패드.
- 제17항에 있어서,상기 산재된 키 영역의 아래에 위치한 키 스위치(21)는 3개의 신호 트레이스에 각각 접속되며, 상기 3개의 신호 트레이스는 상기 매트릭스의 한쪽으로부터 상 기 스위치에 대한 단일 액세스와, 상기 매트릭스의 다른쪽으로부터 상기 스위치에 대한 2개의 액세스 포인트를 형성하는 것을 특징으로 하는 키패드.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 돌출된 키 영역(11) 또는 상기 산재된 키 영역(22)은 키가 구동되는 동안 만곡되는 몰딩된 플라스틱 키매트(40)의 각 영역인 것을 특징으로 하는 키패드.
- 제20항에 있어서,상기 몰딩된 플라스틱 키매트(40)의 각 영역이 아닌 키 영역은 상기 키패드에 있는 각각의 이격된 구멍을 통하여 노출되는 것을 특징으로 하는 키패드.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 키 영역은 상기 키 스위치의 어레이 상에서 팽팽하게 펴진 상태로 유지된 팽팽하게 펴진 시트(41)에 고정된 키의 상부면인 것을 특징으로 하는 키패드.
- 제22항에 있어서,상기 팽팽하게 펴진 시트(41)는 엘라스토머 수지로 이루어진 엘라스토머 시트로 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 키패드.
- 제23항에 있어서,상기 엘라스토머 시트(41)는 적어도 한 방향으로 적어도 20 퍼센트의 팽팽하게 펴진 상태로 유지되는 것을 것을 특징으로 하는 키패드.
- 제22항에 있어서,상기 팽팽하게 펴진 시트는 탄성적으로 팽창 가능한 영역(47)을 갖도록 몰딩된 플라스틱 시트로 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 키패드.
- 제25항에 있어서,상기 탄성적으로 팽창 가능한 영역은 상기 시트의 기본 평면으로부터 연장되는 주름잡힌 플리트(pleat)를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 키패드.
