Description
The present technology relates to an oscillation circuit, a timing circuit, an electronic device, and a method for controlling an oscillation circuit. More specifically, the present invention relates to an oscillation circuit using a resistor and a capacitor, a timing circuit, an electronic device, and a control method of the oscillation circuit.
。 2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, in a circuit such as a timer, an oscillation circuit including a resistor and a capacitor has been used to generate a periodic signal. For example, a clock control circuit that adjusts the period of a periodic signal by controlling the resistance value of an oscillation circuit that connects a variable resistor, a capacitor, and an inverter has been proposed (for example, see Patent Document 1).
In the above-described related art, it is possible to generate a periodic signal having a period according to the time constant RC. Here, R is the resistance value of the variable resistor, and C is the capacitance of the capacitor. However, since the values of R and C fluctuate according to a change in temperature, there is a problem that the period of the periodic signal fluctuates depending on the temperature. A method of measuring the temperature with a temperature sensor and correcting the resistance value according to the measured temperature is also conceivable, but it is necessary to add a temperature sensor and a circuit for calculating the correction value, which may increase the circuit scale and cost. .
The present technology has been created in view of such a situation, and has as its object to generate a periodic signal whose cycle does not depend on temperature in an oscillation circuit using a resistor and a capacitor.

In the above equation, dT indicates a difference between a predetermined reference temperature and a measured temperature. The unit of the temperature is, for example, Kelvin (K). m is a temperature coefficient. The method of setting the temperature coefficient m will be described later. VDD2 0 shows the temperature compensation voltage at the reference temperature. The unit of the temperature compensation voltage VDD2 is, for example, volt (V).

The unit of the gate width W and the gate length L is, for example, meters (m). In Equation 4, u is the carrier mobility, and the unit is, for example, square meters per volt-second (m 2 / V · s). Cox is the capacitance of the oxide film, and the unit is, for example, Farad (F). K B in Formula 5 is the Boltzmann constant. T is the temperature, and the unit is, for example, Kelvin (K). q is the elementary charge, and the unit is, for example, Coulomb (C).

RC=R0C(1+k×dT) ・・・式9
FIG. 5 is a graph illustrating an example of a temperature characteristic of a time constant of the

In the above equation, R 0 is a resistance value of the
In the exemplified equation 9, the time constant RC of the

FIG. 6 is a timing chart illustrating an example of an operation of the
At timing t 0, the clock signal CLK goes high,
Then, discharge is terminated at time t 1 the discharge time T 0 has elapsed from the timing t 0, the input voltage of the buffer amplifier 255 becomes V TH -VDD2. Here, V TH is a threshold voltage of a transistor in the
Then, charging is terminated at a timing t 2 of the charging time T 1 is passed from the timing t 1, the input voltage becomes V TH + VDD2. At timing t 2 later, input voltage, and repeats the same variation.
TCLK=T0+T1 ・・・式10Based on the above operation, the period T CLK of the clock signal CLK is represented by the following equation.
T CLK = T 0 + T 1 Equation 10
kln(A+1)―mA/(1+A)=0 ・・・式22If the second term of equation 21 is set to “0”, the period T CLK does not depend on the temperature. Therefore, a temperature coefficient m that satisfies the following equation may be set.
kln (A + 1) -mA / (1 + A) = 0 Expression 22
As described above, for example, the
In a clock circuit such as the real-
On the other hand, in the real-
If one of the temperature compensation voltages VDD1 and VDD2 is supplied to both the
Further, although the temperature compensation voltage VDD1 is fixed for simplifying the calculation, the temperature compensation voltage VDD2 may be constant depending on the temperature characteristics of the time constant, or both the temperature compensation voltages VDD1 and VDD2 depend on the temperature. It may be a configuration. For example, the
VDD2 / VDD1 =
(VDD2 0 / VDD1 0 ) (1 + m × dT) Equation 24
In the above equation, VDD2 0 and VDD 1 0 is a constant value.

[Operation example of communication module]
FIG. 7 is a flowchart illustrating an example of an operation of the

As described above, according to the first embodiment of the present technology, the
In the above-described first embodiment, the clock signal CLK is generated by one
FIG. 8 is a circuit diagram illustrating a configuration example of the

The sum of the delay times of the
As described above, in the second embodiment of the present technology, since the temperature compensation voltages VDD2 and VDD1 are supplied to the
<3. Third Embodiment>
In the above-described first embodiment, the clock signal CLK generated by the

The
The
As described above, in the third embodiment of the present technology, since the
<4. Fourth embodiment>
In the first embodiment described above, in Equation 16, temperature compensation is performed with the parameter a kept constant. However, in practice, the threshold voltage VTH may fluctuate depending on the respective manufacturing processes and temperatures of the pMOS transistor and the nMOS transistor in the
FIG. 10 is a circuit diagram illustrating a configuration example of an
The
The
The
With the configuration described above, if a = V TH / VDD2, the period T CK is represented by Expression 26. Further, the voltage that the
Note that the
As described above, in the fourth embodiment of the present technology, the
