[Detailed description of the invention] (Field of industrial application) This invention is a non-woven fabric that has an antibacterial effect, and is particularly suitable for use in sanitary materials such as masks, footwear such as insoles, rugs, filters, etc., which prevents the growth of bacteria and mold. The present invention relates to a nonwoven fabric suitable for controlling odor and preventing odor.

(Conventional technology) Various molds and bacteria exist around us on a daily basis, and in hot and humid environments, their reproduction becomes particularly active, causing athlete's foot, rotting and fermentation, and other unpleasant problems. It is well known that they generate odor. It is also known that bacteria breed in sweat that remains on the surface of the skin or sweat that is absorbed by underwear, socks, etc., causing odor. Furthermore, the influence of microorganisms is not limited to bad odors, but clothing is damaged by microorganisms, and microorganisms can cause embrittlement, discoloration, and bad odors of textile materials.

Therefore, attempts have been made to prevent the growth of mold and bacteria that cause these bad odors, and studies have been conducted on antifungal, antibacterial, and deodorizing finishes. As a result, one method involves graft polymerization of fibers and an antimicrobial treatment agent using silicone resin as a medium to create a treatment agent solution, which is then treated with dipping or padding, and the other method is post-processing. By incorporating non-toxic antibacterial agents into the fibers,
A method has been developed to ensure that a trace amount of antibacterial agent is always present on the fiber surface. (Refer to Japanese Unexamined Patent Publications No. 59-37956 and No. 59-133235.) However, although these methods currently provide antibacterial effects to clothing, socks, etc. through spinning, knitting, etc. Its application is still insufficient, and various efforts are still being made.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) In view of the above-mentioned circumstances, the present invention aims to utilize the antibacterial fibers in various products by mixing them into non-woven fabrics, including sanitary materials, footwear, rugs, etc.
The purpose is to use nonwoven fabrics in a wide range of applications, such as those related to air and liquid filters, to suppress the growth of bacteria and mold, and to prevent the odor that is generated from them, thereby making the antibacterial effect of the product widely available.

(Means for Solving the Problems) That is, the present invention is characterized in that at least 10% or more of the antibacterial fibers are mixed into the constituent fibers of the nonwoven fabric when manufacturing the nonwoven fabric, and 5% or more of the low melting point fibers are mixed into the nonwoven fabric. It is made by fusing and creating a nonwoven fabric by heat processing.

Here, as the antibacterial fiber, it is possible to use any of the fibers obtained by the above-mentioned methods, but it is preferable to use a non-toxic antibacterial agent that has excellent antibacterial power and deodorizing property in the latter fiber itself, For example, it is a fiber infused with an antibacterial agent known under the trade name Rib Fresh. As this fiber, acrylic fiber or polyester fiber is usually used.

The proportion of these antibacterial fibers mixed into the fibers as constituent fibers of the nonwoven fabric varies depending on each product, but it is preferably 10% or more, and if it is less than that, the overall antibacterial effect is poor and practicality is lost. There is a fear.

In addition, the nonwoven fabric is a needle punch type nonwoven fabric,
In addition to thermal bond type nonwoven fabrics, stitch bond type nonwoven fabrics, and binderless type nonwoven fabrics in which low-melting point fibers are mixed into the constituent fiber components, the present invention includes all nonwoven fabrics obtained by known means. In the case of a binderless type nonwoven fabric, it is particularly important to mix 5% or more of low melting point fibers into its constituent fibers.

The nonwoven fabrics mentioned above are used for masks,
It is used in a wide variety of applications including mask pads, sheets, carpets, carpet base fabrics, air and liquid filters, and has a remarkable effect on inhibiting the growth of bacteria compared to conventional products.
When looking at the growth status on the surface in contact with the sample, growth was observed in the conventional product, but no growth was observed in the present invention.

It is expected that it will be particularly effective when used to impart antibacterial properties to products that are plagued by bacteria and mold.

Moreover, since the present invention is a non-woven fabric that is mixed into the constituent fibers, it is possible to maintain antibacterial activity for a long time without the antibacterial fibers falling off, and it can be mixed with other fibers to prevent the antibacterial properties from falling off. Since the nonwoven fabric is constructed without using a binder, it is advantageous in maintaining the volume of the nonwoven fabric and improving elastic recovery. In particular, since low melting point fibers are mixed in and no binder is used, the antibacterial fiber effect is reduced. It is fully exploited and has a wide range of uses.
