Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable regeneration of a desulfurizing agent without performing a reducing process by carrying one or more kinds of oxides of Mo and W on a porous carrier consisting of oxide and furthermore carrying one or more kinds of oxides of Mn, Co and Ni thereon to prepare the desulfurizing agent. CONSTITUTION:A porous sintered carrier consisting of oxide is impregnated with a soln. contg. a first component consisting of the compd. of at least one kind of Mo and W and thereafter the first component is calcined by heating it in the oxidizing atmosphere. Then the carrier carried with the above- mentioned first component is impregnated with a soln. contg. a second component consisting of the compd. of at least one kind of Mn, Co and Ni and thereafter the second component is calcined by heating this carrier in the oxidizing atmosphere and a desulfurizing agent is produced by mainly carrying the second component on the surface of the first component. High-temp. reducing gas contg. gaseous hydrogen sulfide is brought into contact with this desulfurizing agent and H2S is adsorbed thereon in a form of sulfide to remove H2S.
