Abstract

PURPOSE:To effect graft-copolymn. of a monomer capable of radical polymn. onto a surface of a plastic tube easily in the air by dipping the tube in a soln. of said monomer, by keeping the tube in such a state that the surface onto which no graft-copolymn. is to be made is dipped in a liquid. CONSTITUTION:The graft-copolymn. of a monomer capable of radical polymn. onto a surface of a plastic tube by dipping the outer or inner surface of the tube in a soln. of said monomer in an air atmosphere is conducted in such a state that the other surface is kept dipped in a liquid. Since the surface onto which no graft-copolymn. is to be made is dipped in a liquid (pref., water) and thereby shut out of air, it is unnecessary to conduct the polymn. in a vac uum or in an inert gaseous atmosphere, and the productivity can be so much enhanced by the present method.
