PURPOSE:To suppress the longitudinal oscillation effectively by reducing the output of an engine after the passage of a specific time which is varied responding to the engine operation condition before the acceleration starting, as well as suppressing the longitudinal oscillation generated in a car body in the sudden acceleration by controlling the engine output. CONSTITUTION:To an ECU 33 which composes an engine control device, the suction negative pressure signal 101, the engine rotation frequency signal 102, the O2 sensor signal 103, the throttle opening signal 104, the water temperature signal 105, the gear position signal 106, the car body acceleration speed signal 107, the engine displacement signal 108, and the like are input respectively. And in the ECU 33, the EGI circuit 41 to control the fuel injection and the ESA circuit to control the ignition timing are arranged respectively, and the respective control signals are output to an injector and an ignitor. In this case, the longitudinal oscillation generated in the car body in the sudden acceleration is suppressed by reducing the output of the engine. And the engine output is controlled responding to the engine operation condition before the acceleration starting, for a specific period of time, while the engine output is stopped, after a specific time has passed.
