Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a series reactor which can effectively operate its function by providing a short-circuit current suppressing member so employing a superconducting material as to electromagnetically couple to a main winding, thereby setting the member to a state of generating a resistance by the superconductivity failure of the superconducting material. CONSTITUTION:When a series reactor is employed, a shortcircuiting secondary winding 4 performs its superconductivity at the time of non-short-circuit so that its resistance is eliminated. Accordingly, the component crossing the winding 4 of a magnetic flux due to a circuit current flowing to a main winding 1 induces a current therein. On the other hand, a current flowing to the winding 1 is increased at the time of short-circuit, and a magnetic flux due to this is strengthened, but a current larger than that at the time of non-short-circuit flows to the winding 4, the superconductivity of the superconducting lead for forming the winding 4 is invalidated, the resistance of the winding 4 is increased, the current flowing to is suppressed. Since the magnetic flux density at the center is large dissimilarly different from that at the time of non-short-circuit, the impedance as the series reactor becomes equivalent to an increase, thereby effectively suppressing the short-circuit current of an external circuit.
