Abstract

PURPOSE:To surely correct a defect such as a disconnection, a short-circuit, etc., even if said defect is generated by providing in advance two pairs of display driving elements at every picture element, and distributing and connecting both these display driving elements between the picture element and a pair of line (row) electrodes being adjacent thereto. CONSTITUTION:With respect to, for instance, the center picture element electrode 12 among three pieces of picture element electrodes 11-13 arranged in the line direction, two pairs of display driving elements 51, 52 are provided, and four pieces of diodes for constituting them are placed in four corner parts of a square contour of the picture element electrode 12. As for whether a defect of the picture element exists or not, whether a disconnection and a short-circuit exist between the picture elements 11-13 and a normal line electrode 31 for them or not is checked by an automatic testing machine. In case when a defect has been detected in the picture element electrode 12, as for the picture element electrodes 11, 13 having no defect, the diode between said electrodes and a line electrode 32 is detached at a part of C1. As for the picture element electrode 12 having a defect, the diode between said electrode and the normal line electrode 31 is detached at a part shown by C2.
