Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable efficient speed setting within a range including super low speed operation, by providing windings having different numbers of poles to a stator and a rotor then feeding AC power to them and producing rotary magnetic fields. CONSTITUTION:Windings (stator winding 3, rotor winding 8) are provided to a stator 2 and a rotor 5. Different numbers of poles ore provided to the windings 3, 8. Then AC power is fed from an AC bus 4 to the stator windirg 3 and the rotor winding 8 so as to produce rotary magnetic fields. Since the rotor 5 rotates according to the differential rotary speed of rotary magnetic fields between the stator winding 3 and the rotor winding 8, superlow speed operation can be made without sacrifice of efficiency or torque.
