PURPOSE:To obtain a strip having beautiful surface by specifying surface temp. of rotating roll and rapidly cooling and solidifying molten metal in order on the surface of the rotating roll. CONSTITUTION:By using hot water at >=40 deg.C as roll cooling medium, the surface temp. of the roll is made to 45-85 deg.C. By using the hot water at 40-about 100 deg.C as the roll cooling medium, expansion of the roll is controlled to small and the flow of the molten metal is stabilized. By this method, the quality of thickness, surface roughness, etc., of the ribbon can be stabilized.
