Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain fiber reinforced plastics which can be used within a wide temperature range and possesses high-vibration-attenuating properties extending from low frequency to high freaquency, strength and rigidity, by a method wherein a vibration damping layer is constituted of a single layer or two layers or more of resin through single or combination process of the resin obtained by containing epoxy resin into specific resin. CONSTITUTION:High-vibration-damping fiber-reinforced plastic is constituted by placing a vibration-damping layer comprised of synthetic resin between fiber-reinforced plastic materials. The vibration-damping layer is constituted of a single layer or two layers or more of resin B obtained by blending epoxy resin in resin A whose enlongation ratio at a temperature 20 deg.C is 25% or higher and a peak temperature of a tangent (tandelta) of the loss falls within a range of 10-180 deg.C. The resin A is selected out of single or mixed polyester resin, vinyl resin and polyolefin resin. Bisphenol A type, orthocresol novolac type and glycidyl amine type can be used as the epoxy resin to be mixed in the resin A. A loading of the epoxy resin per 100pts.wt. resin A is 1-15pts.wt.
