Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve corrosion resistance and repetitive bending resistance and to reduce the weight of a heat exchanger by cladding a brass alloy bar on the surface of a heat resisting copper bar for fins which contains slight ratios of specific metal elements and is specified in electric conductivity. CONSTITUTION:The brass alloy bar is clad on the surface of the heat resisting copper bar for fins which consists of 0.01-0.13wt.% in total of >=one kinds among Zn, Mg, Ni, Cr, Mn, Si, Zr, In, Y, Te, Sn, P, Pb, and Sb and the balance Cu and has >=90%IACS electric conductivity. The alloy which contains 20-38% Zn or contains >=0.5% in total of >=one kinds among Sn, Si, P, Ni, Al, and Sb in addition thereto and consists of the balance Cu is preferably used for the brass alloy bar. The cladding rate of the brass alloy bar is preferably set at about 5-30%. The corrosion resistance and the repetitive bending after corrosion are thereby improved while the high strength and high heater radiation characteristic of the fin material are maintained.
