NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (X is Cl, Br, I or H). USE:A chelating agent. PREPARATION:A compound expressed by formula II (R is alkyl) is reacted with a compound expressed by III (Ts is p-toluene sulfonyl) in a solvent such as DMF in the presence of a base catalyst (preferably NaH) at 60-140 deg.C for 12-36hr and then the resultant cyclocondensation product is hydrolyzed in the presence of a detosylation catalyst (e.g. hydrobromic acid/acetic acid mixture) at 50 deg.C-reflux temperature for 24-72hr and p-toluene sulfonyl group and alkyl group are removed to provide the compound expressed by formula I.
