Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the breakage of a stator coil and the breakage of an anticathode surface by detecting the excessive power feed to the stator coil and the short circuit on the stator coil side, limiting or cutting off the power feed, and disabling the X-ray generation when detecting the short circuit. CONSTITUTION:The current flowing to a stator coil 1 is detected by a current detecting circuit 7 and fed to an overload detecting circuit 8 and a load short circuit detecting circuit 9. When the overload detecting circuit 8 detects an overload, a control circuit 6 limits or cuts off the power feed to the stator coil 1, when the load short circuit detecting circuit 9 detects the load short circuit, an interlock circuit 10 disables the X-ray generation, and simultaneously the control circuit 6 limits or cuts off the power feed to the stator coil 1. The breakage of the stator coil 1 and the breakage of the anticathode surface of an X-ray tube can be thereby prevented.
