Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a lead storage battery excellent in overcharge performance by forming a film layer plated with lead-tin alloy on the surface of a lattice body made or lead-calcium alloy. CONSTITUTION:The lead-tin alloy plating is applied to a Pb-Ca alloy lattice by the lead-tin alloy plating bath to cover the lattice body completely. When the alloy plating is applied to the lattice surface, a corrosion layer is mainly formed with alpha-PbO2 with a small specific surface area and reacted with H2SO4, most of the corrosion layer is left as PbO2 even if the surface layer is converted into PbSO4, and the path of electricity is secured. A lead storage battery using a Pb-Ca alloy lattice excellent in overcharge-resistant performance is thereby obtained.
