Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a mechanically strong filter by forming a peripheral frame in one piece together with a filter paper and a fixing frame, which are set in a mold beforehand, with an injection molding machine. CONSTITUTION:A filter paper fixing frame 12 made of polypropylene is set in a fixed retainer plate 31, and a filter 2, which has its edge turned out, is inserted into the fixing frame 12. Then, a movable retainer plate 32 is transferred to press and fix a parting face 30 of a mold to the fixed retainer plate 31. Next, a thermoplastic elastomer is injected out of a nozzle of an injection molding machine into a cavity 34 by way of a sprue 35 and a gate 36. The thermoplastic elastomer fills up the cavity 34 not only to form a peripheral frame 3 but also to fuse and join the filter paper fixing frame 12, resulting in a one-piece formation of the filter paper fixing frame 12, the peripheral frame 3 and the filter paper 2. A mechanically strong filter is accordingly obtained by fusing and fixing the peripheral frame, the filter paper and the fixing frame in one piece.
