Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition especially suitable for sterilization by gamma-ray irradiation, usable as various medical implements with biological safety ensured, by blending polyvinyl chloride resin, high-molecular weight plasticizer and specified amount of epoxy compound. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be obtained by blending (A) 100pts.wt. of polyvinyl chloride resin, (B) 10-150(pref. 20-100)ptw.wt. of a high-molecular weight plasticizer with a molecular weight of >=1,000, pref. a high-molecular weight modified polyester prepared by reaction between a polyester oligomer and a diglycidyl ether compound of formula I or II (R1 and R2 are each 2-30C alkylene or aralkylene; X is halogen l, m and n are each 0-10), and (C) such amount of epoxy compound, pref. from vegetable oil and/or mineral oil (e.g. epoxidized soybean oil) as to be 0.05-0.3 (pref. 0.07-0.25) for epoxy equivalent based on 100g of the component A.
