CONSTITUTION:Sol 3 obtd. from metal alkoxides as starting materials is charged into a hydrophobic resin vessel 1 such as a PP vessel and converted into gel. This wet gel 3 is put in a resin vessel 1 for drying, a lid 4 having air holes 2 is fitted to the vessel 1 and the gel 3 is dried. The resulting dry gel is sintered.
