PURPOSE:To improve the properties and quality of a rolled stock and to prevent the roll surface from chapping by arranging respectively mist spray nozzles on an upper and a lower guide device on an output side of a rolling mill and spraying mist to roll bit parts to cool the rolls. CONSTITUTION:The mist spray nozzles 18, 27 are arranged on each front end member 13, 32 of the upper guide 4 and the lower guide 5 fitted on an upper and a lower work roll 1, 2. Mist is jetted from nozzles 8 in the range from a roll bit part B1 of a facing upper roll 1 to a nozzle 18. Further, mist is jetted from a nozzle 27, too, in the same way, in the range from a roll bit B2 of a lower roll 2 to a nozzle 27. Accordingly, the cooling efficiency of the work rolls 1, 2 is improved and roll heat crown is improved. The properties and quality of the rolled stock 3, as a result, are improved and the surfaces of the rolls 1, 2 are prevented from chapping.
