Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a small-sized, light-weight and simply constituted magnetic shielding device by a method wherein a cavity is provided in the interior of a superconductor and the cavity is filled with coolants. CONSTITUTION:A cavity 2 is provided in the interior of a superconductor 1 and the cavity 2 is filled with coolants. For example, the cavity 2 is formed in the interior of the ceramics superconductive material 1 consisting of Y, Ba, Cu, O and so on and the coolants of liquid nitrogen, cooled nitrogen gas and so on are filled here. The material 1 is shut excepting an aperture 3 and the effect of an external magnetic field is shielded in a space 4 in a container, which is formed of the material 1, by a Meissner effect. Moreover, reversely to that, the material 1 shields the effect of a magnetic field, which is generated by a body 5 put in the space 4 in the container which is formed of the material 1. Or moreover, the surface, which comes into contact to the outside, of the material 1 is covered with such a heat insulating material 6 as a foaming polystyrol or a superinsulator to contrive so as to be able to reduce the consumption of the coolants.
