Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the long life and high brightness by specifying the thickness of a dielectric substance layer and a phosphor layer in an electroluminescence element provided with the phosphor layer and dielectric substance layer between a transparent electrode and a back electrode. CONSTITUTION:An electroluminescence sulfide phosphor layer 3 dispersed end deposited on an organic binder, a sulfur layer 4, and a dielectric substance layer 5 are provided between a transparent electrode 1 made of indium/tin oxide or the like and a back electrode 2 made of aluminum or the like, a transparent resin substrate 6 is deposited on the surface of the transparent electrode 1. The thickness of the phosphor layer 3 is set to 50-80mum, the thickness of the dielectric substance layer is set to 10-20mum respectively based on the initial brightness characteristic of the electroluminescence element and the life characteristic of the electroluminescence element. This phosphor layer 3 has the stabilized high brightness at the thickness within the range of 50-80mum, and the dielectric substance layer has the peak brightness at the thickness within 10-20mum.
