PURPOSE:To permit the operation of a turbocharger over a side range of engine speed zone by forming two passages each of which introduces the exhaust gas to a turbine rotor and is equipped with each blow-out port having different area and controlling the flow rate of the exhaust gas in the passage on the large area outlet side. CONSTITUTION:When the revolution speed of an engine is low or the load is low, the second electromagnetic opening/closing valve 42 is opened by the operation of a computer 44, and the pressurized air is supplied from a pressurized air source 40 to the second actuator 36, and the second opening/closing valve 34 is closed. At this time, all the exhaust gas is introduced into the first swirl passage 22, and the air is blown onto a turbine rotor 26 from the first blow-out port 28. When the revolution speed of the engine is high or the load is high, the second electromagnetic opening/closing valve 42 is closed and the second opening/closing valve 34 is opened, and almost all the exhaust gas is introduced into the second swirl passage 24, and the air is blown onto the turbine rotor 26 from the second blow-out port 30. At this time, the area of the second blow-out port 30 is increased to more than that of the first blow-out port 28, and the flow speed of the turbine rotor 26 is reduced.
