Abstract

PURPOSE:To regulate water content value of raw material coal containing excessive water to a value for producing coke, by feeding the raw material coal together with hot air to a centrifugal separator to regulate the water content, removing the water content of powdered coal in a centrifugal dehydrator, mixing both and feeding the resultant mixture to a pulverizer. CONSTITUTION:Raw material coal, together with hot air, is fed to a centrifugal separator 2. The coal is then dried with the above-mentioned hot air to simultaneously separate part of powdered coal and water. The separated mixture of the separated powdered coal with water is then subjected to dehydration treatment by a centrifugal dehydrator 5. On the other hand, water content value of the coal at the outlet of the afore-mentioned centrifugal separator 2 is regulated by controlling the temperature or blowing rate of the above- mentioned hot air. The resultant coal after regulating the water content is then mixed with the afore-mentioned dehydrated powdered coal and fed to a pulverizer 6.
