Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the titled material having stable superconductive characteristics at the temp. of liq. nitrogen or above and undergoing no change with the lapse of time by substituting an element having a smaller ionic radius than Y for part of Ba or Y in a BaYCuO-based superconductive material so as to control the lattice constant of the a-axes of the rhombic crystals to a specified value or below. CONSTITUTION:An element having a smaller ionic radius than Y, e.g., Mn or Ti is substd. for part (e.g., 0-20atom.%) of Ba or Y in a BaYCuO-based superconductive material by treating the material under prescribed sputtering conditions. The material is then heat treated at a high temp. of 900-1,000 deg.C or a low temp. of 500-600 deg.C to obtain the titled material having <3.8Angstrom lattice constant of the a-axis of the rhombic crystals and >100K Tc.
