Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent any mislearning in a good state of combustion stability by controlling an air-fuel ratio to be turned to the lean side so as to cause roughness to become less than the allowable value at the time of idle running, and at the time of storing and renewing the control value and learning it, prohibiting the learning when intake air temperature is more than the specified value. CONSTITUTION:An engine speed signal is inputted into a control unit 15 together with each detected value out of an air flow sensor 5, an intake air temperature sensor 6, an idle switch 9, etc., whereby this control unit operates and controls valve opening time of a fuel injection valve 8. In addition, when the control unit 15 judges it to be an idle state, it calculates a speed variation or roughness on the basis of an engine speed signal, and when this speed variation is more than the allowable value, an air-fuel ratio is controlled to be turned to the rich side and when it is less than the allowable value, the air-fuel ratio to the lean side, respectively. The control value at that time is renewed only when intake air temperature is less than the specified value, and it is stored as a leaning value.
